What is “GTS”? To put it bluntly, “GOOGLE THAT SHIT”. Yes, as soon as you get a woman’s number, enter in in Google and do a search.

Several years ago I was on Match.com and started trading emails with this beautiful blonde. She was supermodel hot. NO joke. She was simply stunning.

I wasn’t about long term anything during this phase of my dating life and she was perfect because her profile indicated she was just “looking for fun”. which clearly meant she was looking for the same thing I was.

I crafted the perfect opening message and she responded. Just getting a response made me feel like I hit a home run.

We started trading emails and I got her number after a few messages. I told her I would call her so we could meet talk about where we would meet for a drink.

When she gave me her number I felt like I hit a buzzer beater in game 7 of the NBA Finals to win the game. I was literally high-fiving myself in the air. I live alone so who else was I going to high five?

Anyway, I was excited that she sent me her number which meant she was clearly interested. I was going to meet this goddess and was very excited.

Have you ever built up you hopes and only had them crash on you? Well, that’s what happened to me. My mom always told me “Don’t count your chickens before they hatch” and I had counted a Bakers Dozen with this hottie.

As soon as I got her number I decided to Google her name and phone number.

I typed in her name and the first thing that came up was her Linkedin profile. It was her alright. Her Linkedin photo matched what she looked like in her dating profile photos. She lived in San Diego like I did so she wasn’t some Catfisher. All good right?

Not quite.

I entered her number into Google and there it was. A link to the website Backpage.

Now, at this time I had no idea what Backpage was. It’s essentially Craigslist. With one exception; it has hookers. I mean actual ads for hookers. As in hookers have their own actual section on the website called Escorts. WTF???.

I clicked on the link that had her number and it took me to her Escort ad.

Yes, the hot blonde goddess who I was planning to meet for a drink was an escort. A high priced one I might add. All the photos of her were provocative.

So what did I do? I dated her for a year and we lived happily ever after….NOT. Hell, no. I was stunned and very disappointed.

I put the kibosh on the date as soon as I saw the ad. I emailed her and told her that I felt we weren’t a fit. I deleted her number permanently.

She, of course, went off on me. Nasty email about wasting her time and being like every other guy in San Diego.

I ignored her messages and moved on.

From that moment on whenever I got a woman’s phone number, I would immediately search it Google. I’m happy to tell you that I never had anything come up bad on any subsequent women but it’s better to be safe than sorry.
