I Went Undercover As A Hot Girl On POF

Ever wonder what online dating is like for women? Hot women?

I do. I did a “not so scientific study” and I went undercover as a hot girl to see what it’s like for an attractive woman on a major dating site.

How many messages does a beautiful woman receive?

Are the men who contact her actual matches?

What types of messages do men send?

I took the plunge to find out.

My Fake Female Profile

My first step was to find photos of a really beautiful woman. I found the perfect woman in a major city on the West Coast. I downloaded her photos from a leading dating site.

She was Asian, 34 years old and stunningly beautiful.

My next step was to create a fake profile in a city on the opposite side of the country on POF.

I picked a huge city on the East Coast and created a fake profile for this Asian goddess.

I filled out the profile completely, copying various sentences from actual profiles of women.

I’d take a sentence from a woman’s profile in San Diego, then a sentence from a woman in San Francisco. A girl in Florida had a great blurb about her passion for travel. So I didn’t actually write anything from my male mindset except for a few points.

I did emphasize the following 4 things on her profile, though.

1. She wanted kids.
2. She did not want to date a man with kids.
3. She was allergic to cats and dogs and thus, not interested in men with either.
4. She was looking for a relationship and did not want anything less than a serious relationship.

Then I launched the profile and awaited results.

Now, I want to be clear here, I did not email any men nor look at men’s profiles unless they emailed my fake female profile.

The idea was, create a profile of a beautiful woman, and see the responses and check if men actually read the profile at a basic level.

Fake Female Profile Results

I put the profile up on a Sunday afternoon and took it down on a Wednesday night.

During that span I didn’t look at a single guy’s profile nor did I email anyone.

Once I deactivated the dating profile I began to tally the results.

I crunched the numbers and here are some of the results of my “not so scientific study.”

Number of men who responded: 155 men.
Number of men who sent multiple messages: 6 Repeats.
The average age of men who responded: 36 Years Old.
The average # of profile photos for each guy: 5 Photos.
(Note 3 guys had 16 photos each which skewed the photo average)
% of men who wanted kids: 43.2%
% of men who had kids: 7.1%
% of men who had dog and/or cats: 27.7%
% of men looking for a long term relationship: 87.8%

Types Of Messages Sent To Hot Women

Here are some of the emails that my fake profile received. Note how they all say nothing of substance.

Final Thoughts

Yes, I went undercover as a hot girl on a dating site to see what a knockout has to deal with. But also to give a little insight into why men fail so often online.

Although I only used one fake profile it was easy to see that a lot of men simply don’t even look at a woman’s profile.

After all, I did indicate on the woman’s profile that she wanted kids yet only 43% of the men who responded indicated they wanted children themselves.

The profile said that she was allergic to cats and dogs yet nearly 28% of men who responded had a pet.

It’s clear that a lot of men didn’t make much of an effort to read her profile.

Just look at the types of messages she received above. All were boring elevator talk and didn’t challenge her, show her they read her profile, or ask any open-ended questions.

Of the 155 messages she received, only 1 asked an open-ended question. That’s awful.

So take note, take a little time and READ the profile of the woman before sending her a message. And when you do, comment on something in her profile.

Don’t get frustrated if you get bad results when you don’t even take the time to see if you are a match for her. Believe me, she WILL read your profile to see if you are compatible.
