Women Share How Long A Guy Should Last In Bed

Saucydates, an adult dating platform, surveyed nearly 4,000 of its members to determine how long a guy should last in bed. Women were asked, “How long would you like sex to last”. The average time women expected men to last in bed was 25 minutes 43 seconds.

Men were also asked how long they expected sex to last and gave an average answer of 25 minutes 43 seconds. Men and women were also asked about their actual stamina in the survey as well.

Male and female members of the site were asked the following questions by the dating site:

The last time you had sex (intercourse, NOT foreplay), how long did it last?
How long would you like sex (intercourse, NOT foreplay) to last?

The numbers were tallied and the site broke down the results by country. As mentioned earlier, women expected men to last nearly 26 minutes yet men reported they lasted far less than that.

Men’s Sexual Stamina Results

The average time for men lasted in bed, broken down by country was:

17 minutes 05 seconds (United States)
17 minutes 00 seconds (Canada)
16 minutes 58 seconds (United Kingdom)
16 minutes 34 seconds (Australia)
15 minutes 15 seconds (India)

These results are almost 4 times larger than the results compiled by an app. I covered this in a previous blog post What Is The Average Male Stamina For Men In The United States?

The survey also found that the average duration of sex increased with age then eventually decreased. Does this mean there’s a “sexual peak” for men? Maybe. But does it mean the sex is better when men are at their peak? Not necessarily, several studies have found men have better sex when they are past their peak.

A 2015 survey conducted by UK website IllicitEncounters.com found 37% of women and 34% of men described their 40’s as the best age period for sex. Happify found men and women reported they had the best sex of their lives when they were 46 years old.

Final Thoughts

Saucydates found men performed their best in their 30’s, their worst when they were 18, and older men are somewhere in between. Women may have lofty expectations but the reality is people report having the best sex while with their current partner. Lovehoney, an adult toy store, found that 46 percent of people said they were having the best sex of their lives with their current partners, regardless of age.

There are a number of reasons women ignore your messages yet most can be easily corrected. Most men’s mistakes fall into one of five buckets which all crush any chances of success online.

I’ve put together the top 5 reasons women ignore your messages so you can fix your dating profile and/or messages right now. If women aren’t responding to your messages the odds are you’re committing one of the mistakes below.

1. Your Messages Stink

The first impression women have of you is your initial message. So, imagine you’re a woman who gets bombarded with messages daily like this:

Other lame opening messages include:

“Hi”
“How are you?”
“Hello”
“Hey”
“Enjoying your weekend?”
“Good evening”

You get the idea. Do you think these type of messages are good conversation starters? No, they’re awful conversation starters and pretty much assure your message will be ignored.

Aside from mentioning sex, the first message approach above is the worst type of opening message you can send to women. It shows you didn’t read her profile and are too lazy to make an effort to get to know her.

Sure it’s a numbers game and because of that a lot of men think it’s easier to simply “copy and paste” an approach like this. You may even do this yourself and might get lucky every once in awhile, however, you’ll do much better if you simply read her profile and comment about something you see.

2. You Have Bad Photos

The first thing women look at on your dating profile is your photos. All it takes is one bad photo to doom your chances. If you have any of these photos, remove them immediately:

Half-naked selfies.
A photo of your pet.
A photo of your car.
A landmark.
A quote.
Hiding your face (for example, wearing a motorcycle helmet).

Basically, if you aren’t in the photo it needs to be removed. No woman is going to look at a photo of your car and think to herself, “I gotta meet this guy!”

You want your photos to encourage women to contact you, not run away. Snap a few photos of yourself doing what you love and your profile will be head and shoulder above other men’s.

Any type of hobby or interest you have is fair game and should be added to your dating profile. Traveling, hiking, volunteering, playing music, karaoke, work photos, grabbing a beer, working around your house, fixing up your car, at church, riding a bike, etc… are all better choices than anything on the list above.

3. Your Self-Summary (Written) Section Is Subpar

Believe it or not, women actually read your dating profile. The effort you put into your text section speaks volumes about the effort you’re willing to put into a relationship.

I know it can be hard to sit down and write about yourself but putting a little effort into your written section can pay huge dividends. Don’t think you can half-ass it on this section. The written section of your profile is just as important, if not more important, than your photos.

Think about it, women are on dating sites to meet men for relationships (for the most part). Women have several options so they go through your profile looking for things you have in common. They look for shared interests which can signal you’re a good match.

So taking the time to share some things on your dating profile is much better than these approaches:

This is an all too often problem for men; putting in hardly any effort into their dating profile. You don’t have to write your life history in this section but you better put some effort into it if you want women to notice you.

4. You Aren’t Compatible

A lot of guys blindly email women because they find them “hot” without making sure they are actually a match. Men tend to focus on photos for the most part which is fine but you have to read the fine print to make sure you’re similar or you’ll end up wasting energy emailing women who will never respond to you.

For example, if you share on your dating profile you don’t want children you’re just wasting your time emailing women who want kids. Maybe you share on your profile you want a long-term relationship. Then you shouldn’t email women who share they are looking for something casual.

As I mentioned in the 3rd reason above, women actually read your dating profile. When a woman sees you are looking for different “things” you’ll quickly be bypassed so you just wasted your time contact a woman who you never had a shot in the first place.

When looking for women online, make sure you use your dating sites filtering mechanism. You’ll avoid emailing women who you have no chance of getting responses from.

5. You Give Off A Bad “Vibe”

You don’t want to give off bad signals in your messages, photos, or dating profile. Women ignore your messages when you’re guilty of any of these red flags:

Creepy
Broody
Clinger
Stalker
Weird
Angry
Pervert

Often we see ourselves through rose filled glasses and may not realize we are doing something that is off-putting to women. You may think you are being cool or trying to be different but the reality is you are scaring the crap out of women who look at your profile.

Here are a few examples I found on some dating profiles.

You don’t want to leave your photos open to “interpretation” by women. Your posture, the lighting of your photos, your facial expressions, and anything you have in your photo is fair game to being scrutinized. So opt to use well-lit photos where you are having fun and smiling.

When it comes to your messages one email is enough. If you must send a second message, wait at least a full day and send a completely different message. Women have lives too and aren’t always online so don’t be the “needy” or “stalker” type of guy who sends 4 messages within 24 hours.

Coffee shops, farmers markets, the beach, shopping, your job, or even something as simple as sitting on a bench in the park can be a great photo for your profile portfolio.

In the moment photos like these are a great addition to your portfolio because they share a piece of your life. Women will get a good idea of who you are. So don't hesitate to add a few of these to your dating profile.

Having fun photos like these are a far better first impression than the typical shirtless bathroom photos and car selfies most men use. And that's the point; to use photos on your profile that stands out.

You check your daily matches and some gorgeous girl catches your eye. What do you do after you’re matched up with a woman? Do you send them a message? Add them to your favorites? Like them? How do you make the first move without scaring her away? Easy, send her a message.

You don’t want to blow it by so follow these 5 tips for your messages and you’re guaranteed to stand out in her inbox. Remember; the effort you put into your messages show women how serious you are about meeting them.

1. Do Recon On Her Dating Profile

Most guys use an approach in their message which I like to call, “boring elevator talk.” These are things you would say to someone you share an elevator with. Here’s an actual message:

These are boring conversation starters and don’t work. They are low effort and show you’re lazy because you could care less about getting to know her and instead take the easy approach of using a non-engaging opening message.

Also, don’t comment on her photos. Zoosk found men who comment on photos receive 25% fewer messages. Commenting on photos is definitely better than using elevator talk but is still low effort because it shows you only care about her looks and aren’t taking the time to get to know more about her.

The best approach when you’re matched up with a woman is to read her profile so you can find something you have in common. Finding things you have in common make it easier for you to start conversations. So look for hobbies, passions, or interests you share with women. It can be something as simple as music, a travel destination, or work.

2. Start A Conversation The Right Way

Once you identify things you share in common your next step is to craft your message and ask her an open-ended question. Ask her a question about your chosen topic but structure it in a way she can’t answer with a simple “yes” or “no.” An easy way to do this is to tack on one of these to your question:

So, instead of asking a woman “Do you like to travel” you could write “What’s next on your traveling bucket list? Why would you choose that specific place?”

You get one chance to make a first impression so don’t blow it by coming off negative, needy, or annoying. Here’s a fact, POF found users with “positive” identifiers received 23% more incoming messages. You want women to smile and feel good about communicating with you.

Being negative in your message is a surefire way to being ignored.

4. Check Your Spelling And Grammar

Your messages are not the time for text lingo and misspelled words. Bad grammar makes you appear uneducated or unintelligent and yes, it matters to women. 96% of women think grammar is essential and bad grammar is a turn-off in one Match.com survey of its members.

Zoosk polled 9,000 singles and found 72% were turned off by bad grammar and 48% consider bad grammar to be a deal-breaker. You appear lazy when you send messages that are full of spelling errors. Even worse, you look like you just don’t care.

I once had a woman respond to my message because I spelled “a lot” correctly. Women care about spelling so don’t ruin your chances by misspelling words. Before you hit “send”, re-read your message as a safety precaution.

5. Be Direct

After a few messages ask her for her number and have a specific time and place to meet. You want to show confidence and not appear wishy-washy in your messages.

Women want a “man”, not some insecure guy who has no cajones. Avoid using words like “if” or “maybe” in your messages. An example would be “Let me know if you’re interested” or “Maybe we can meet this weekend if you’re free.”

Instead, just say “I know a place that has a great wine list. Let’s meet for drinks Saturday night at 7. Sound good?” The sentence shows that you have a plan, a place, and a time. Even if she can’t make it she’ll offer an alternative (as long as she’s interested).

Avoid pictures where you’re shirtless in your bedroom. In fact, avoid taking photos in your bedroom period. You’re putting women in an intimate settings right off the bat which is a terrible first impression.

Dimly Lit Photos

Avoid using pictures that are dimly lit. First of all, it’s hard to see your face and secondly, it’s creepy. You look like some stranger lurking in an alley. Dimly lit photos should be avoided at all costs.

Moody Photos

You don’t want to look like you have a bad attitude in your photos. You want women to smile when they look at your photos and if you’re moody or angry women will hit the “back” button faster than you can count.

How To Take A Trustworthy Photo

What makes a good profile photo? Just smile. Use a natural photo in a natural setting; outdoors for example.

Photofeeler recommends “showing yourself caring for anything…” An animal, for example, “…can up your trustworthiness factor.” So you could add a photo of you and your dog out at a park like the one below.

I think we’ve answered the question what makes a good profile photo; show you’re trustworthy. Showing you’re a “good guy” boosts your likability and increases the likelihood women will contact you. You’ll appeal to women who are looking for something serious.

If you want to avoid the label of an online dating penpal, ask the woman out. Even better, ask women out sooner than later, so you know where you stand.

When you ask a woman out, you have a 0% chance of becoming a pen pal. Problem solved.

The last thing you want to is becoming a pen pal with someone, and yes, some women are only looking to swap messages and not meet for whatever reason.

How to avoid becoming a pen pal on dating apps

Women are fed up with men who have no interest in meeting.

Take Action To Avoid Becoming A Dating Site Pen Pal

You don't want to swap messages with a woman who has no interest in meeting you. Your time is valuable, so why invest in someone who only wants a chat buddy. Focus on women who want to meet you instead.

Some women will respond, saying they prefer chatting more on the app so they can "get to know you better." These women prefer taking it slower than others, but it's your call if you want to go that route. I prefer moving faster.

Here's what I write when someone gives me the "I want to get to know you better" line:

"You joined a dating site to meet someone, right? That's why I'm here too. It's easier to chat over phone or text. Here's my number 555-555-5555. Send me yours." It's that easy.

If you notice, the sentence I use gets her to agree when I ask, "right?" In my experience, most women give me their number when I send this message.

The woman may have her reasons for still holding out. Maybe she's been burned in the past, had a stalker, dealt with guys who sexted her immediately or had a stage 5 clinger who texted her 900 times in a row.

Whatever the woman's reason, always respect her decision. I've had women refuse to swap numbers until after we meet, which is completely fine.

The last thing you want is becoming a pen pal with women on dating sites. The solution is simple; ask her out quickly.

Women will not hesitate to give you their number when they're interested in you. If they hesitate to send you their number, walk away and find someone who does want to meetup.

A recent survey of 1,700 singles on EliteSingles found 85% surveyed believe that being well read makes you more appealing. Yes, nearly 2/3 of the those surveyed said they would like to date someone who reads.

Women find reading so appealing there’s even an Instagram called hotdudesreading where people submit photos of men showing off their intellectual side in New York. The Instagram has nearly 1 million followers as of today.

Why Reading Makes You Hotter

Reading is certainly good for your health; there are a ton of studies proving the health-related benefits. Reading boosts brain power, reduces stress, and is good for you mentally, among other things. But why does it make you more appealing to women?

Reading suggests that you’re a “balanced, independent, individual with something to offer – which tends to appeal to singles, especially early on in the relationship” says EliteSingles psychologist, Salama Marine.

Reading signals intelligence. You’ll have a better vocabulary, be more analytical, and have more to talk about than the typical guy who only has conversations about his job, sports and what he’s watching on Netflix.

You could easily make a favorable impression by sharing you enjoy reading on your dating profile. There are two ways to do this:

Share how you enjoy reading in your text section.
Use a photo reading a book.

You don’t want to write “I enjoy reading” and leave it at that. That won’t work. You can write something like this:

“I enjoy visiting used bookstores, navigating the close-knit shelves and finding buried treasures among all the books. Kindles are cool but I’m in front of a computer screen all day and there’s nothing quite like holding a book in your hands. It elevates my mood, helps me relax, gives more depth than any movie can give, and I love reading to pass the time.”

That’s much better than “I love books” don’t you think?

Or you could use a total ninja approach and simply take a photo of yourself reading a book.

Keep in mind, a photo like this works best using an actual book, not a tablet and especially not a comic book.

Also, don’t use tip this to trick women if you don’t actually read. If someone asks you about a book and you haven’t actually read it, well, good luck trying to stumble out of that one. Know When Women Play Hard To Get

A woman isn’t playing hard to get if she doesn’t respond to any of your messages, or worse, ghosts you. That means she’s not interested. You should know the difference.

Also, some women are just busy and don’t live on their dating app so don’t be over eager and send a barrage of messages if she doesn’t respond back immediately. It’s just creepy to send a string of 5 or 6 emails within a 24-hour window. And believe me, a lot of guys are guilty of flooding a woman’s inbox with messages in a short amount of time. Don’t do it.

You can identify when women play hard to get when after a few emails they suddenly “becomes busy” when asked out or never seem to commit to meeting you. For example, you’ve asked her out a few times and she declines your date and never offers an alternative day to meet up. If a woman wants to meet you she’ll always offer an alternative date; “I’m not free Friday night but I’m free Saturday.”

If she’s busy all the time and doesn’t agree to meet you or offer another day to meet, she’s not playing hard to get; she’s simply not interested. At this point, move one.

Communication Is Critical To Success

What if you can’t tell if she’s playing hard to get or is really just busy? How do you know the difference? It boils down to communication.

Take the initiative to start a conversation about what you both want and don’t assume anything. Don’t try and be a mind reader. Women will tell you exactly what they’re looking for if you ask them.

Everyone is different and behaves in their own way. What you think is “playing hard to get” could actually be indifference. Not all women are touchy-feely and super emotive. It can be confusing sometimes. Heck, some women might not even be aware they’re doing it.

I’ve encountered women who had a lot of enthusiasm while some were closed off; taking more time to fully warm-up. I’ve met women who were direct and upfront and wanted to meet sooner than later because they didn’t want to waste their time. No matter who I talked to, I always asked them what they were looking for in the first few messages so I could ensure we were on the same page.

I encourage you to do the same. It’s critical to know what she’s looking for so you don’t waste your time on someone who isn’t interested in you.

Treat Others As You’d Like To Be Treated

When you like someone don’t act as if you’re not interested; waiting days to email or text back. And definitely, don’t delay meeting up if a woman’s interested in you.

If you’re interested in someone and act as if you’re “too busy” or “too in demand” it’s probably going to hurt you. Women find nothing sexier than a man who is into her. If you’re “too busy” to meet up with her, trust me, there are a dozen other guys who will ask her out and you’ll be left out in the cold.

In the end, treat a woman as if you’d like to be treated. It’s that simple.

Final Thoughts

Don’t chase women who keep you at a distance. If there’s no reciprocation on her part, it’s not worth continuing. Make sure you know where you stand so you don’t waste time chasing someone who has no intention of meeting you.

Whether you believe in zodiac signs or not, you’ve probably, at least, read yours in a newspaper or online at some point. I don’t know how important zodiac signs are to men, they certainly matter to women; I’ve had countless women ask me my sign during emails, phone conversations, and dates.

I’ve even seen dating profiles where women share their “preferred” compatible Zodiac sign in their self-summary section. How often have women asked you what your Zodiac sign is?

Each Zodiac sign has positives and negatives when it comes to romance but what about cheating? What Zodiac signs cheat the most? Surely someone has broken down which sign is likely to cheat on others. Of course, someone has; Ashley Madison.

Ashley Madison, which has millions of members, revealed which Zodiac signs are most popular among its members; and thus, are the biggest cheaters. Here are the top 5 Zodiac signs that sign up for AshleyMadison.com:

Capricorn (born December 22 — January 20) – “…known for their determination and dominance…despite their buttoned-up conservative nature, Capricorns have a reputation for being one of the most highly sexed and sensual signs of the Zodiac…” according to Larry Schwimmer, President of astrodecision.com.
Aquarius (born January 19 – February 18) – “…unconventional lovers who come across as being very casual rather than overtly sexual…they can be emotionally detached when in a sexual relationship and like to try new things as a way of keeping the sex interesting and innovative,” says Schwimmer.
Pisces (born February 18 – March 20) – “…highly artistic and easily expressive and this transfers to their sex life… romantic and playful, yearning for a soul mate who appreciates the importance of love more than sex..”
Taurus (born April 19 – May 20) – “…among the most sensual of all zodiac signs…when they’re engaged, they require a partner who can keep up with their endless passion…”
Cancer (born June 20 – July 22) – “…their sexual passions are aroused after they’ve been wooed and made to feel emotionally comfortable…”

What do these findings mean? Nothing. I don’t think you should read too much into this survey and definitely take it with a grain of salt. I was curious when I heard about it and wanted to share it.

I don’t believe in astrology. Never have. Never will. In fact, I couldn’t tell you which month each Zodiac sign belongs to except mine; I’m a Virgo in case you’re curious.

Yet, millions of people are firm believers and you may be one of them. Even if you’re a non-believer, I can assure you, some people will look at this list and keep the findings in the back of their mind. Others will care less.

What are good action photos for a dating profile? Basically anything outdoors that’s adventurous, active, and fun. You must add an adventurous photo to your dating profile because they’re great conversation starters and help compliment a full dating profile portfolio.

Here are a few examples of good action photos for a dating profile:

Hiking
Trail running
Skiing
Rock Climbing
Kayaking
Skydiving
Jetskiing
Riding a horse
Ziplining
Bungee jumping
Scuba diving

Any activity that’s outside and fun is a must. This isn’t a photo of you playing chess, cooking, walking at a farmers market, or painting. Those are good photos but don’t count as an “action photo.”

A photo of you at the gym doesn’t count either. Seriously, don’t even think of using a photo of yourself at a gym. They don’t work.

Why Action Photos Work

Action photos are great conversation starters with women. It could be some sort of subconscious trigger when seeing a man doing active, semi-dangerous, fun activities. Or maybe women like the idea of finding someone to do those things with.

It’s in your best interest to add an action photo to your profile. Here’s 5 tips you to follow when choosing an action type photo.

1. No Selfies

This isn’t the time for a selfie. In fact, avoid selfies altogether. You want women to see your entire body in this photo otherwise it looks like your hiding something. Zoosk found a full body shot results in a 203% increase in emails received so it’s critical you show your entire body in this photo.

If you’re overweight, you can use a sneaky trick wearing a specific type of t-shirt which gets a woman to focus on your upper chest. I covered this in a previous blog post How To Be More Physically Attractive To Women With One Photo.

2. Exude Confidence

People who are confident sit up straight and stand tall. Even if your sitting down push your chest out. For example, if you’re kayaking you clearly can’t stand up, so stick your chest out while taking the photo. You don’t want to have a photo of yourself on a kayak leaving over like you’re exhausted.

Here are a few ways to show confidence in your action shot:

No slouching
No hunching over
Keep your head up
Stand tall and stand proud
Smile
Raise your arms up (optional)

3. Long Distance Shots Work Well

One study by OkCupid found that men with these types of pictures had a very high success rate; even better than traditional close-up photos. The reason is these pictures pique the viewer’s curiosity because of the nature of the photo.

Look at this photo. It’s breathtaking.

These type of photos suck you in. You don’t have to use a majestic photo like this. Just use a wide shot of you at the top of a hill after hiking or a photo of you on the beach with the ocean behind you, or maybe snowboarding at the top of the slopes. You get the idea.

4. You’re In The Photo Alone

Women don’t have time to figure out who you are, so ditch the group shots. If you have to point out which guy you are in your photo, you shouldn’t use it.

An example would be a photo of yourself white-water rafting like this:

Sure it’s a great photo but women can’t figure out who you are nor does they have time. It’s best to be the only person in the photo even if you’re back is to the camera.

Women want to picture themselves alongside you in these photos and certainly won’t if you’re surrounded by others.

5. You Only Need One Action Photo

Don’t go overboard on using action photos. You only need one of these photos to compliment your portfolio. Anything else is going overboard. Your other photos should show your other passions and interests.

You’re using this photo to show you have an active side and aren’t a couch potato. One is more than enough. Too many action shots may scare a woman off because they might think you’re some adrenaline junkie.

Final Thoughts

You want a well-rounded dating profile portfolio and a key ingredient is an action shot; you need a photo of yourself doing something outside. Something active. Something fun. The benefit of this one photo is it may be the difference for a woman to contact you or not.

Do yourself a favor; grab a friend, head outdoors and take some action shots.

No friends? Don’t be afraid to ask a stranger. It’s simple. Just say “Excuse me, can you take a photo of me?” Nobody will say no. Come on, how many people have asked you to take their photo? It’s easy.
