Curious how to show confidence on your dating profile? Add a photo of yourself squinching. Women find men who squinch more likable and competent.

That’s right, squinching not only displays confidence, but it also rates higher than all other facial expressions according to an experiment. The experiment was conducted by “PhotoFeeler.com” which is a site where people can rate people’s pictures and get feedback on their own photos as well.

This specific technique is based on the theory that wide open eyes look “fearful, vulnerable, and uncertain.” To look more confident, it’s a good idea to squint ever-so-gently in photos (as you would naturally in a genuine, relaxed smile).

PhotoFeeler Conducts Photo Experiment

PhotoFeeler guessed that people in squinching photos would be perceived as more confident than average.

The website conducted an experiment where hundreds of photos were tagged in their database based on whether the subject’s eyes were:

Wide open
At rest
Squinching
Closed

Once enough squinching photos were gathered, the site used an algorithm to eliminate “potential bias caused by gender, environment, angle, dress, overall facial expression, and photo edits/filters.” The average scores of squinching photos were compared to the overall PhotoFeeler average.

Experiment Results

The findings were squinching increased the subject in the photos perceived “competence” and “influence” by a substantial amount on the sites scoring scale.

Squinching increased the subject’s perceived Competence by an average of +0.33.
Squinching also increased the subject’s perceived Influence by an average of +0.37.
PhotoFeeler operates on a scale of -5 to +5 so these amounts were significant.

These finding confirmed squinching your eyes is one way how to show confidence.

If you want to grab a woman's attention, show you're a dominant male. A recent study discovered women find dominant males HOTTER than nice guys.

So, how do you show you're a dominant alpha male in your photos? Simple... by showing "pride." I'll show you how to show women you're a dominant male in your profile at the bottom of this post.

But first, I'm sure you've been told women find other types of photos as the most attractive. Let's look at this first.

What About Smiling?

Your photos are a critical piece of your dating profile. The type of photos you use can make or break you because you have seconds to grab a woman's attention.

I always thought smiling was the way to go but the study, Happy Guys Finish Last: The Impact of Emotion Expressions on Sexual Attraction, published by The University of British Columbia found women preferred men who looked proud or powerful over guys who were smiling.

This goes against conventional wisdom, but the study put it to the test and had women rate photos of men. The end result? Women think guys smiling in photos are less attractive than guys who display dominant traits.

Dominant Male Sexual Attraction Study

In a series of studies, more than 1,000 participants rated the sexual attractiveness of hundreds of images of the opposite sex engaged in displays of:

Happiness (broad smiles) - communicates the friendliness and approachability of someone; happy displays tend to elicit trust.
Pride (raised heads, puffed-up chests) - signals high status; studies have down that individuals displaying pride are automatically perceived as higher status than individuals showing a range of other emotions (including shame and happiness)
Shame (lowered heads, averted eyes) - an appeasement display which signals a low status of the individual and his/her awareness that he/she has violated a social norm.
Neutral (no emotions) - Photos devoid of any emotions.

In each experiment, participants were asked to look at a series of pictures of the opposite sex in various emotional states and give their gut reactions to each photo. The women were asked "How sexually attractive do you find this person?" using a 9-point scale ranging from 1 (not very) to 9 (extremely).

In the pride pictures the men were displayed smiling, head tilted slightly up, expanded chest, and arms raised above the head with hands in a fist. The shame photos portrayed men tiling their heads down, directing their eyes down and slightly narrowing chest and posture. Finally, the happy photos had men smiling broadly with an open mouth and raising their cheeks.

Dominant Male Study Results

The results of the study were women found the men who displayed pride as the most attractive followed by shame. Smiling was seen to be the least attractive on men. Previous studies have shown smiling is considered a more feminine expression of emotion, which possibly makes it more attractive to men than women.

The authors of the study suggest that what people find attractive "has been shaped by centuries of evolutionary and cultural forces." For example, evolutionary theories suggest women are attracted to men displaying pride because it implies status, competence, and an ability to provide for a partner and offspring.

Pride highlights "manly" physical features like upper body size and muscularity. Women find these physical traits very attractive. On the other hand, smiling could signal "I'm available" to someone and that you are receptive to dating.

With men, however, smiling could show "too much availability." Women may be attracted to shameful a looking guy because it shows he can be remorseful and accepting of social norms.

How To Show You're A Dominant Male

Taking a photo like the one above is easy. Just cross your arms. Tilt your head slightly up. Have a neutral expression. Done!

Final Thoughts

You should add a photo of yourself displaying pride to your profile portfolio. Don't make this your main profile picture. Just add it to your portfolio.

To show pride all you need to do is expand your chest which highlights your upper body strength. You could also take a photo outdoors with your arms above your head while doing something adventurous like conquering a mountain on a hike or finishing a race. Either of these will convey your masculinity to women.

Showing you're a dominant male is a subconscious trigger to women which signals your "competence and ability to provide for a partner and offspring" and just might make a difference if a woman decides to contact you or not.

Walking The Dog Can Get You Chicks!

In case you aren’t aware, walking the dog helps you meet WOMEN!

This according to a study, Domestic Dogs as Facilitators in Social Interaction: An Evaluation of Helping and Courtship Behaviors, which concluded women were three times as likely to give their phone numbers to a guy if he approached them with a dog than if he asked alone.

Four studies in total were done to explore if dogs facilitate closer relationships.

In the first experiment, a man solicited people in the street for money for a bus ride. Sometimes, while waking the dog, the man would ask for bus fare while other times he would ask for money without the dog beside him.

The second experiment was the same except that a female was used.

In a third experiment, a male (with or without a dog) accidentally dropped some coins on the ground, to see if people would help him pick them up.

In the fourth experiment, a man, while walking the dog or without a dog, asked women in the street for their phone numbers.

The fourth experiment is the focus of this blog post.

Walking The Dog Study

The dog used was a mongrel of medium height and weight. Mongrel is another term for a mutt; a dog that doesn’t belong to a breed. The dog was black with a mid-length coat.

240 women were chosen at random while walking alone on the street.

One man was chosen to perform the approach and ask for numbers. He only approached women who were walking alone.

When he approached them he would say the following:

“Hello. My name’s Antoine. I just want to say that I think you’re really pretty. I have to go to work this afternoon, but I was wondering if you would give me your phone number. I’ll phone you later and we can have a drink together someplace.”

Sometimes he would say the pickup line while walking the dog and others he would not.

After saying his pickup line he was instructed to wait 10 seconds and gaze and smile at the woman.

If the woman accepted his offer she was informed that the study and handed a sheet to fill out regarding the study.

Study Results

The results of the study showed that 28.3% (34/120) of the women while the man was walking the dog agreed to give him her phone number while 9.2% (11/120) of women gave the man her phone number when he wasn’t walking his dog.

Thus women were THREE times as likely to give a man her phone number if he approached her while accompanied by a dog.

The study also theorized that using puppies will increase a man’s odds even more.

Conclusion

If you have a dog, get out there and start walking him or her.

You don’t necessarily have to be walking your dog on a street like the experiment did.

You can meet women wile walking your dog at a park, the beach, a hike, dog park, etc… The possibilities are endless.

The point is that women respond positively to men with dogs.

Why?

Dog help “grease” social interaction, the researchers say.

Having a dog increased perceptions of kindness, thoughtfulness, and sensitivity. Qualities women find appealing in guys.

Why Some Men Prefer Girls With Blue Eyes

If you have blue eyes, you may prefer girls with blue eyes because it not only guarantee your children will have blue eyes but it will also confirm you are the parent; meaning your wife doesn’t cheat.

A recent study confirmed this; men with blue eyes prefer girls with blue eyes.

Why?

The study found by choosing girls with blue eyes, it “assures that a man’s children will have blue eyes” and more importantly children with blue eyes are an “indicator to the paternity of the child.”

Blue Eyed Girls Study Findings

In the study, “Why do blue-eyed men prefer women with the same eye color?“, close up photos of women and men with either blue or brown eyes were rated for their attractiveness by young women and men.

The men and women who participated in the study had brown or blue eyes themselves.

For the sake of this post, I’ll focus on how men reacted to girls with blue eyes.

The eye color of each model was manipulated in the photographs so that the same face would be shown with either the natural eye color (e.g., blue) or with the other color (e.g., brown).

Brown-eyed men showed no preference for either blue-eyed or brown-eyed female models.

However, blue-eyed men rated the girls with blue eyes as more attractive than the brown-eyed ones.

The study interpreted the preference in terms of “specific mate selective choice of blue-eyed men, reflecting strategies for reducing paternity uncertainty.”

What this means is that blue-eyed men prefer women with blue eyes because it’s one way to ensure that if they had children, the kids would have blue eyes. More on that below.

In the second part of the study, 443 of young adults of both sexes and different eye colors (blue, brown, and green) were asked to report the eye and hair color of their romantic partners.

Their responses indicated the presence of a preference of eye color as well as, and to a lesser degree, for hair color.

Most importantly, blue-eyed male respondents were the group with the largest proportion of partners of same eye color.

The study concluded:

1. Blue-eyed men do prefer women with the same eye color.
2. Choosing females with blue eyes is a way for blue-eyed men to assure paternity (i.e., when the father’s and offspring’s genes match) as well as a defense against cuckoldry (i.e., when the genes do not match)

How does choosing a female with blue eyes ensure paternity for a blue-eyed man?

Simple, their children will have blue eyes.

Facts About Blue Eyes

Blue eyes are recessive, meaning that eyes only get to be blue in the absence of dominant brown eyed gene variants, and are therefore rarer than other eye colors.

If a couple is both blue-eyed, their child will have blue eyes.

It’s virtually impossible for two blue-eyed parents to have a brown-eyed child, but if the wife cheats on the husband and conceives a baby with a guy with any other eye color, the child is much less likely to have blue eyes.

The laws of genetics state that eye color is inherited as follows:

1. If both parents have blue eyes, the children will have blue eyes.
2. The brown eye form of the eye color gene is dominant, whereas the blue eye gene is recessive. Blue is found to be recessive to all grades of brown.
3. If both parents have brown eyes yet carry the gene for blue eyes, a quarter of the children will have brown eyes.

Final Thoughts

Men with blue eyes prefer women with blue eyes based on the study. Maybe these men are simply attracted to girls with blue eyes or, as the study suggests, choosing a female with blue eyes is a good way to be sure your children have blue eyes and thus prove the father is not another man.

Unless of course, the girl has an affair with another guy with blue eyes.

Personally, I could care less what color a woman’s eyes are. It’s the least physical part of a woman that I care about.

Girls with blue eyes, brown eyes, green eyes….I’ve never really thought about it.

A nice body? Absolutely.

A killer smile? Of course.

How about the hairstyle? Eh, not a huge factor for me.

But the eye color? Bah, not that important to me.

But some men are different. Some men actually prefer women with a specific eye color; especially men with blue eyes.

What Is The Ideal Male Body Type For Women On Dating Sites?

The ideal male body type for women on dating sites is "average." Women may dream of fit body types, but the reality is very different. Yep, a study found women are open to dating men with average body types.

It's not easy choosing your body type if you're not in great shape. On many apps, you're asked to fill in your "body type."

Don't ever put "prefer not to say." It looks like you're hiding something.

Match.com has the following male body types to choose from:

The body type entries vary across the dating apps, but you can see how they are labeled similarly. Men need to be honest with themselves when filling out this section in their dating profile.

With all the options available, “what is the ideal body type women prefer in online dating?” The results of one study provide insight into the physique women prefer.

Which Body Type Do Women Prefer?

The study, Internet Daters' Body Type Preferences: Race–Ethnic and Gender Differences, wanted to determine how selective women were to body types. It also analyzed the ideal male body type women preferred.

Over 5800 dating profiles were examined in Atlanta, Chicago, Los Angeles, and New York City. The daters were between 18-50 years old and were comprised of women and men. For the sake of this post, we’ll examine which body type women desired most.

The regions were chosen because of the ethnic diversity in those areas. The study compared the body type preferences for dates between African Americans, Asians, Latinos, and whites in the United States.

The study grouped male body types into four broad categories:

Small – All selections of slim and slender were considered “small.”
Average – Average was defined as “average.”
Athletic – Fit and athletic body types were defined as “athletic.”
Large – Extra, large, curvy, and voluptuous were defined as “large.”

Study Discovers The Ideal Male Body Type

According to the study, 78% of daters had a body type preference. Men and women were both likely to have some preference for the body type. Among all race-ethnic groups, at least 75% of the daters expressed a body type preference for dates.

Men are the most critical when it comes to body types. Men are 5 times more likely than women to prefer only to date those with thin or toned bodies.

The study found women may be interested in dating men with the ideal body type but were actually open to other body types.

In the study, 1,865 out of the 2,165 women who participated wanted men with fit/athletic bodies. The study found 6% of the women said they wanted men with fit bodies, but only 13% of that group would stick to their guns and ONLY date men with a fit body type. It shows most women say they want dates with great bodies but are open to men with less than ideal body types.

Other findings of the study were:

Non-white female daters are no more likely than white female daters to prefer a preference for a date’s body type.
African-American, Asian, and Latino women are just as likely as white women to prefer the fit athletic body ideal for potential male dates. Previous research found that African-American and Latina women accept heavier body types when discussing their own bodies. They are less impacted by mainstream media than white women. These women are more satisfied with their bodies and less constrained to the thin ideal body type.
Women also don’t specify a body type when looking for a partner as often as men. The study theorized women might be timid about expressing preferences or feel it is not socially acceptable to place too much value on the body.

Final Thoughts

It should come as no surprise the study found men were 3.5 times more likely than women to have body preference types. Fit/athletic women are open to dating men with male body types other than "fit."

The ideal male body type isn't as important to women. Yes, women dream about dating a fit, athletic, ripped, Men's Health Cover model type of body. But the study showed women are open to other body types as well, especially non-white women.

Some women will generally tell you in their profiles that they want only athletic body types. You see it all the time:

Don’t let this scare you off. You can still raise a woman's interest with confidence, humor, and being assertive. I certainly do.

I'm in average shape but am confident and have a good sense of humor. These traits allow me to date a lot of super-fit women.

What if you're aren't thin or fit? Put average as your body type.

"Average" is PROVEN to be an acceptable male body type for women. If you're in good shape, by all means, state it. However, if you're a little heavy, select "average" instead..

According to the study, 51% of singles said that emojis give their texts "more personality" and 37% said that emojis make it "easier to express their feelings."

Emojis are a simple and convenient way to communicate. It makes sense when you think about it. If a woman were to text you something and you wanted to respond showing that what she said put a smile on your face you could write:

I recently read Match.com’s annual Online Dating Study and wanted to share some of the results with you.

Match.com researched 5,600 singles, asking over 100 questions, and tallying the results. Below are the online dating facts as a result of the study.

86% of women want a partner with the same level of intelligence.

Do Women Like Beards? A Clean Shaven Face?

Which do women prefer?

Beards?

5 o’clock shadow?

Clean shaven?

A ZZ top style beard?

That’s the question of the day.

Personally I have nothing against beards. To each his own. They just aren’t for me. I may not shave a few days but when it gets to about 4 days I shave it off.

Which do you prefer?

Maybe you think women like clean shaven faces. Or maybe women prefer a little stubble. Maybe women like beards.

I read a recent study that answers the question.

According to a study, The role of facial hair in women’s perceptions of men’s attractiveness, health, masculinity and parenting abilities, women find men with beards the most attractive.

Do Women Like Beards Study

A research team from the Evolution and Ecology Research Centre at the University of New South Wales performed the testing for the study.

The study enlisted 351 women and 10 men to serve as models.

Each of the models was photographed in 4 ways:

1. Fully shaven2. With 5 days of beard growth (light stubble)3. With 10 days of beard growth (heavy stubble)4. With a fully grown beard

The photos were shown to the female volunteers who were asked to rate the men in order of attractiveness.

Do Women Like Beards Study Results

The results of the study showed that women found men with heavy stubble to be the most attractive.

Men with full beards or clean shaven faces tied for second.

Men with light stubble were deemed the least attractive.

The females were also asked about their menstrual cycles and whether they were using oral contraceptives to see if it altered their perception of attractiveness of the men in the photos.

It didn’t.

However, some women who were ovulating at the time of the study did find men more masculine as more hair appeared on their face.

Why Do Women Like Beards On Men?

The study couldn’t explain why women find men with heavy stubble more attractive. They do suggest however that it’s likely tied to contributing to a mature and masculine image.

The women found all men with full beards to be more aggressive looking, but likely better at parenting than men with less facial hair.

The study also suggests that light stubble might be the least attractive because of its patchy nature.

Conclusion

Do women like beards?

The study concluded that women do indeed find men with beards the most attractive.

Will this change if you want to shave or not? It could possibly attract more women.

Do Nice Guys Finish Last When It Comes To Relationships?

You may think nice guys finish last but science has proven nice guys actually finish first! A recent study found women prefer the nice guy over the bad boy.

It seems that being nice isn’t the kiss of death as many dating sites will have you believe. Nice guys don’t finish last. In fact, they sometimes finish FIRST.

This according to a study, Analysis of Personality Type and Relationship Desirability Within Hook-up Culture: Nice-Guys vs. Bad-Boys which showed in some cases women preferred the “nice guy” over a jerk.

Now don’t equate “nice” to being “passive”, “agreeable”, or having a “lack of confidence”. Those are different subjects.

You can be nice while at the same time confident, assertive, and a leader.

Nice Guy vs. Bad Boy Study

A survey was done with over 200 women to answer the question; “do nice guys finish last”. The study looked to determine how women feel about the nice guy vs. the bad boy.

Survey questions included demographic questions, as well as a “relationship preference” question to indicate the desirability of a man.

Participants were randomly assigned to one of two hypothetical dating scenarios; nice guy or bad boy. They were then asked to evaluate the personality characteristics of their date and indicate their likeness to pursue either a second date or to hook-up with their date.

The term “hook up” can mean many things. It’s not just sex. It this case it could range from a kiss to sex.

Nice Guy vs. Bad Boy Study Results

The connection between a preference of a hook-up and the likelihood of a hook-up was significantly positive for the nice-guy and for the bad boy (see photo below). The “nice guy” did just as well as the “bad boy”.

In general, “perceived personality traits were frequently, significantly associated to relationship likelihood in second date conditions for both nice guy and bad boy, as opposed to hook-up conditions”. This means that a good personality was a factor for a second date with a woman. You can still be “nice” to get a second date.

Final Thoughts

Do nice guys finish last? The study shows that nice guys do just as well as the bad boy. In fact, nice guys can finish first.

Women in a dating game scenario performed in the study preferred a nice guy to a jerk guy even at different degrees of physical attractiveness. So, you don’t have to be some super hot guy to get a girl after all.

We all know that women like bad boys. The study confirms this. But….you can still be a “nice guy” and get a girl.

You need to be a leader. Don’t be wishy-washy. Have a plan. Make decisions.

Imagine being able to contact SEVERAL hot chicks at your leisure. It gets better.
