Curvy Singles Dating is an app that focuses on curvy women. It's that simple. Curvy singles is a niche app for men seeking women with curves.

The App is limited to certain cities.

As of now, Curvy Singles appears to be limited to a handful of cities. So, if you don't live in any of the cities below, this app may not be for you.

Hopefully, the app will expand to a national level instead of a few cities. That will expand the female userbase. 

There are two memberships: free and premium.

Curvy offers a free membership and premium membership. Benefits of the premium membership include:

• You can send unlimited likes.
• You can see who likes you and match instantly.
• You do not get ads.

Curvy Singles offers a free 3-day trial. I recommend trying the app on the weekend to see if it's for you. The premium membership is very expensive compared to other traditional dating apps.

Yes, you can like a woman's profile (and message her) using the free version. The app will subject you to tons of advertisements while using the free version.

The free version of Curvy Singles is frustrating. 

The free membership is a chore and useless. You are bombarded with advertisements constantly.

I want to share how the experience may be for you on Curvy Singles:

You visit a woman's app. Like her profile and exit her bio. Guess what? The app shows you a video ad you cannot exit from until it finishes.

Next, you visit another woman's profile and "like" her profile. Again, the app subjects you to another video ad you must sit through.

You look at the next woman's profile and don't like her. So, you decide to exit to the main menu. Guess what? Another video ad appears, which you must finish.

The free version is frustrating beyond belief. I exited an ad, and the app forced me to the Google Play store (I have an android phone).

There were times I had to shut the app down because I was stuck in a video ad. Every time I try and exit, I'm taken to Google Play. 

How to create a profile on Curvy Singles.

Creating a profile on Curvy Singles will feel familiar to anyone who uses dating apps. You can write a bio, which is limited to 200 characters.

The app also allows you to choose several traits allowing women to see beyond your bio. These include pets, your body type, occupation, income, smoking, etc. It's a good idea to answer these traits as women may seek men fitting those traits.

Are there women on Curvy Singles?

There are a handful of women using the app. Even for a niche app, you may be disappointed that few women are active on the App.

Typically, the age range of women using the app is over 35 years old. There are very few women under 30. The majority of women are indeed curvy.

The women on Curvy Singles are typically seeking a relationship. The app is not a hook-up or casual dating app.

What the icons mean on the app.

The icons on Curvy Singles are easy and intuitive. Here's what they do, from left to right (see above):

1. The heart with the location tag shows women on the app in your city.
2. The thumbs up takes you to the Traits feature (see below).
3. The conversation bubbles is your inbox.
4. The last is an image of your profile where you can make changes to it. 

What are the features of the Curvy Singles app?

Curvy Singles offers limited features. Limited features is a good thing because it makes the experience straightforward. Here are a few of the features in the app:

Filtering tool - The filtering tool offers over 15 different settings making it very robust. Be sure to choose the "online" setting so you can focus on women actively using the app.

Traits - This feature groups women according to preselected profile traits users choose when creating their profile. When you click on a trait, the app shows you women who all share a given trait.

Does Curvy Singles deliver?

When looking at a dating app, I rate it on two things: 1) Are there women on the app. 2) Does the app deliver on its promise. Here's how Curvy Singles fare.

1. Are women on Curvy Singles? Yes, but not enough to recommend. Tack on the app focuses on select cities. So, if you don't live in a city on its list, you're out of luck.

2. Does Curvy Singles deliver what it promises? In theory, yes. Curvy Singles states the app is "open to singles who are curvy or like to meet and date curvy girls, super-size big, beautiful women (BBW)..." It certainly does that as the majority of women are curvy.

The problem with Curvy Singles is there are too few women using it. You will find more curvy women on literally every other dating app; Tinder, OkCupid, Match.com, etc.

Final Thoughts

I like the idea of Curvy Singles, an app for people seeking a different body type. The problem is there aren't enough women using the app. I cannot recommend this app because literally, every other mainstream app has more women who are curvy.

Also, the app is only available for a few select cities. I don't understand this at all. If you're not in a city (see above), you are out of luck. 

The free version of the app is a frustrating experience. You're constantly bombarded with video advertisements you must watch. Like a profile, sending a message, backing out of a profile all trigger ads. I would NEVER use the free version of this app.

There is a very expensive premium version. Right now, it's $27 a month. There is no way I can recommend that for what you get in return. If there were a lot of women using the app, it might be a different story. 

Another problem with the app is there are too many fake accounts. They are easy to spot because they are super hot women. 

If you're interested in this app, I recommend using the free 3-day trial. Sign up on a Friday and use it through the weekend. By Sunday, you will know if this app is for you.

Jigsaw Dating App Review - A Good Idea That Falls Flat

The Jigsaw dating app offers a fresh approach to online dating. All face pictures are covered with a jigsaw puzzle. The app does this to allow you to meet someone beyond pictures. Instead, focusing on women's personalities.

Jigsaw promises to "reveal what's real and looks beyond the looks." It claims you "date people with personality, not photos." Does it deliver its promise? Keep reading my comprehensive review of the Jigsaw dating app.

How is Jigsaw different than other apps?

On all apps (Tinder, Match, OkCupid, etc.), women see your pictures. You're aware of how important pictures are for your success. Not on Jigsaw.

Jigsaw claims it's an anti-superficial dating app where people put their personality first. It's different from all other dating apps because faces are covered with a jigsaw puzzle.

Yep, your face is covered with a jigsaw puzzle. Women will see everything else except your face. The clothes you're wearing, the background, even other people in your picture are visible - only your face is hidden.  

You have to message your matches to reveal what's underneath. So, during a conversation with a woman, each message unlocks pieces of the jigsaw puzzle, piece by piece.

Is the Jigsaw app free?

Jigsaw is free to download and use. The app does offer a premium membership, Jigsaw +. I break down what's included with Jigsaw + below.

The premium membership cost is based on weekly, monthly, three-month, and six-month subscriptions. To entice you, they offer discounts for longer subscriptions. 

You don't need to sign up for the premium version of Jigsaw. You can message (and like women) on the app. A mutual like will start a conversation for free. 

How to sign up for the app.

Simply download the app from the Apple App Store, or Google Play Store and sign up through SMS, Facebook or Apple ID. It's that easy. 

Note that Jigsaw is mobile-only. There is no desktop version, so you need a phone to access it.

How to create a profile on Jigsaw.

There are several sections on your profile on Jigsaw. I recommend putting effort into each section. Here is a list of what you fill out in your bio:

Photos - Jigsaw allows up to 4 photos on your profile. It's best to use pictures with an interesting background. Show where you are and what you're wearing. Otherwise, your photo will be just a big Jigsaw puzzle covering your face. Full-body pictures are ideal on the app. 

Jigsaw also offers a Smart Photos feature. This automatically orders your profile photos and picks the best one. I recommend using this feature unless you have a preference for your photos.

Tagline - Essentially, a headline for your dating profile. Get creative with your headline. Humor is the ideal approach here. 

Personality pieces - These are prompts that showcase your personality. Examples of questions include "Together we could" or "A random fact I love is." Be sure to write a sentence or two for your answer. Avoid one or two-word responses. 

Essential pieces - Jigsaw presents traits that can be displayed on your profile. These include how often you exercise, your diet, education, political views, etc. You can choose up to 11 that are displayed on your profile. 

Bio - Jigsaw allows a lengthy section to write about yourself. It's a good idea to write about your hobbies, interests, and what you're looking for.

Social Media - Your social media is an unlockable feature. This means women won't see these at first. During a conversation, the puzzles on your photos will unlock this information as well.

You can verify yourself on Jigsaw.

It's a great idea to verify yourself whenever an app offers photo verification. Women are skeptical of men using old pictures, so this is a way to put their minds at ease.

Women are more likely to contact guys who verify themselves. I recommend you take advantage of this feature on Jigsaw; it may make the difference if a woman connects with you or not.

Photo verification on Jigsaw is easy. Simply click the "Edit info" button and tap "Verify your profile." The app will then prompt you to take a selfie.

Someone at Jigsaw will compare your selfie to your pictures. The app says it takes up to 24 hours. Once verified, you'll have a blue tick next to your name.

How to connect with women.

Jigsaw presents you with women similar to Tinder or Bumble. You view each profile and scroll up (and down), viewing a woman's photo and bio. 

Four icons are located at the bottom of your phone and hovering over the woman's profile (see below). These icons allow you to bypass or connect with her.

Here is what each icon above means on Jigsaw:

• Click the X to bypass a woman's profile.
• A star represents sending a supersend. These put your profile ahead of other men. There is a cost to use the supersend feature. 
• The message icon sends a message to the woman. A banner appears when they view your profile, informing her that you messaged her. 
• A heart icon sends a like to the woman. Women will not know you liked them unless they like you back.

How to see a woman's face on Jigsaw.

A woman's face (and yours) is hidden when browsing profiles. Pictures are covered by a 16-piece jigsaw puzzle.

The initial piece of the puzzle is removed when browsing profiles. This gives you a sneak peek of the face underneath. 

When you like a woman's profile, one piece of the puzzle disappears. If there's a match, one piece of the puzzle pops away for each message you send.

Once you've both sent seven messages, the woman's entire face is visible. Jigsaw also shows you links to their Twitter, Instagram, and Facebook if they've added them.

Once a conversation starts, you are given 72 hours to complete the puzzle. After that 72 hour window, the match will expire.

What are women looking for on Jigsaw?

The women using Jigsaw cover a broad spectrum of preferences. Some are looking for casual dating, while others are seeking a relationship. Jigsaw is NOT an app for hookups.

Jigsaw + offers premium features. 

Upgrading your account to the premium-tier Jigsaw + offers more options. Here's what you get:

• Shows you who likes you. This allows you to match up with women who like your profile. 
• Notify people you really like using a supersend. Jigsaw claims with this feature, you'll be 3x more likely to match.
• Recover expired matches. You are given 72 hours to complete the puzzle on a woman's profile before she disappears. This allows you to recover those expired connections.
• Boost your profile. According to Jigsaw, this increases your visibility by up to 3x.
• Unlimited reactions. There are no daily limits on likes or messages.

Does Jigsaw deliver the goods?

For my review of the Jigsaw dating app, I look at two things - are women using the app, and does it deliver what it promises. 

1. Are there women on Jigsaw? No. Some women are using the app, but not enough to justify using it. The women on the app seemingly never use it. I think the app keeps showing women's profiles who aren't actively using it

2. Does the app deliver on its promise of putting personality first? A resounding no. If you want to put substance over superficial dating, women have to put effort into their bios.

Most women put zero effort into their profiles. This means you have nothing to base a decision on to connect with them or not. Their faces are covered by a puzzle, and there's nothing in their bio. The app fails because of this.

Final Thoughts

Jigsaw approach to online dating is unique - you can't see a woman's photos and instead focus on her personality. Only through a conversation are pieces of the Jigsaw on a woman's photos removed.

This seems like a good idea, but it wears out its welcome for me. So, if looks are important to you, stay away from this app; it's not for you.

There are some things I like about this app; it's quick to set up your profile and get started. The concept of getting to know someone beyond looks is interesting. You can message women and like women for free, but that's the extent of the positives.

There are a lot of negatives for Jigsaw. The puzzles that cover photos get old quickly. You're supposed to focus on the woman's personality, but women don't put much effort into their bio. That means it's a crapshoot because the photos are covered, and with no bio, it turns to a guessing game.

In the end, I want to see a woman's pictures. Tack on the fact women don't put a lot of effort into their bios. This means you have nothing to base a decision to like a woman or not. I end up just liking all women's profiles and rolling the dice, hoping for a match.

Another problem is this 72-hour window to remove the pieces of the jigsaw puzzle. This is ridiculous. Jigsaw needs to remove this requirement. People have lives and aren't always using the app. 

A major issue with this app is the lack of women. There simply aren't enough on it right now. And those that use it aren't always active. So, if you're lucky to match up with a woman, you better hope you can unlock the photo puzzle in 72 hours, or she'll vanish from your matches.

I do not recommend the Jigsaw app. Save your time and use something else. If you decide to try Jigsaw, temper your expectations - you're less likely to be disappointed.

OurTime Review - A Solid Choice For Meeting Women

Is OurTime a good dating app for meeting women? Yes, it's a solid choice if you're in your mid-40's and beyond. If you're looking for a relationship with women in their late 40's and up, OurTime is a great starting point.

OurTime does have some issues. Its desktop version needs an upgrade, there are too many upsells for more money (boosts and gifts), and the mobile app removes a lot of the features found on the desktop version.

Ourtime's benefits, however, far outweigh the issues above. It's is easy to jump into and is very intuitive to learn. There are a lot of women on the app, which is its biggest selling point.

How good is OurTime? Who uses it? Is it a good way to meet women? Keep reading for my comprehensive OurTime review.

What is OurTime?

OurTime is an app that focuses on men and women over 50. However, I see a lot of women in their 40's, so it's not only 50-somethings who use the app.

There is a large number of people on this app. Its focus is for people seeking relationships - this is not a casual dating app.

Is the app free?

It's free to sign-up and browse profiles on OurTime. You can like profiles as well. That's the extent of your "free" options - if you want to message women, you need a premium membership.

There are additional features on OurTime that come at an added cost. These include boosts, gifts, and the connect me feature. I dive into these features below. 

How much is Ourtime?

OurTime isn't the most expensive dating app, but it's not dirt cheap. The cost of our time depends on which plan you choose. The app offers several options.

One trick I recommend is signing up but immediately hiding your profile. If you're patient and willing to wait, OurTime will eventually mail you discounts on memberships. After a few weeks, the app starts sending you discount offers like the one below.

How to set up a profile

Setting up your profile on OurTime is simple. You aren't required to do anything. You don't even need a picture, but don't expect to do well going that route. 

I recommend filling everything in your profile. Let's break down each section of a profile on OurTime.

Photos - Ourtime allows you to load up to 30 photos on your profile. 30 pictures is a little extreme - I don't advise that many. 7 pictures is more than enough.

You can add photos from your PC, phone or import them directly from Facebook. One thing I like about OurTime is you can add captions to your pictures.

Adding captions to your pictures can give you a boost, so it's a good idea to do so. Hinge found photos with captions get two times as many likes as those that didn't.

About section - This is the section where you enter traits. Examples include education, height, income, pets, etc.

You must answer each question. Women look at your traits, and they are also found in OurTime's search tool. Bypassing this critical section may exclude you from a woman's search results.

How about we - This section allows you to suggest activities you want to do with the woman reading your profile. Pick activities that a woman will enjoy doing with you - wine tasting, road trips, concerts, hikes, etc.

The "how about we" section is at the top of your profile. Women will see it, so it's critical you write something. A well-written answer makes a great immediate first impression.

In A Nutshell/The One I Am Looking For/I'd Just Like to Add - These three sections are free-form text. This means you can write a few sentences diving into each topic. They are self-explanatory and are easy to answer.

Personality Questions - This section has prewritten questions that supposedly give insight into your personality. You don't get to write an answer - you choose from a set of dropdown options.

For example, you can choose to answer the "Do you enjoy cooking" question. You can select an answer that is shown on your profile.

My Top Interests - OurTime allows you to select up to three interests from several categories. The categories available are:

• Activities & Hobbies
• Culture & Entertainment
• Food & Social
• Life & Spirit

Each category has several options to choose from. For example, "activities & hobbies" include "games," "nature and outdoors," "sports," "camping," and other related topics.

Once you select an interest, you can write about it. It's a good idea to choose three of these because your answers give a little more insight into who you are.

Message Ideas - OurTime offers you several questions that women can answer if they're interested in you. There is a list, and you can select up to four questions. When selected, they are displayed in your profile with a message icon.

What are the features of OurTime?

OurTime offers several features. Some are included with the premium membership, while others cost extra. Here's a list of the features on the app:

• Connect me - Allows you to talk and text women using a private number. This feature even has a voice mail. Nobody can see your phone number. This is an added feature not included in the premium membership - it costs extra.
• Gifts - An added cost beyond the premium membership. Supposedly, it makes women notice you. These are virtual gifts that you can send women. I recommend ignoring this feature.
• Likes - You can see which women like you on the app. This is a premium feature (requires paid membership) to see who likes you. It comes with the paid membership.
• Chat - OurTime allows you to chat on IM with women. You can disable this feature if you want. This is a very good feature to connect with women who are online when you are. The feature is included with your premium membership.
• Reply for free - Allows anyone to message you back whether they are a full member or not. The feature is not included with the premium membership, so it's an added cost.
• Boosts - Gives you enhanced visibility to women. The app claims it gets you 4X more attention. It's not included as part of the premium membership, so you must pay to use it. This feature is worthless and can be ignored.

OurTime uses a good search tool.

The search filter on OurTime is OK. It's not the best but serves its purpose. You can search by:

• Distance
• Religion
• Age
• Height
• Body type

Are there women on Ourtime?

You'll be happy to know that there are indeed women on the OurTime app. There are a lot of women, and they are very active on the app. The women are engaged, and most are looking for a relationship.

There's a wide age range of women on the app. From the mid-40's and beyond, there's no shortage of ladies using the app.

How to message women

Sending messages on OurTime is similar to all other dating apps. You click on a woman's profile/message icon and send a message. Simple.

OurTime will give you suggestionss for a message - ignore these canned messages. Don't send the message the app suggests because women will know you put zero effort into your icebreaker. Below is an example of the message OurTime suggests.

JSwipe Review - Features and Overview

JSwipe claims to be the #1 Jewish dating app and might be just that. If you're under 40 years old and looking for a long-term relationship with a Jewish woman, this app delivers.

JSwipe does have some interesting features; a match expiration date and your location aren't tied to your GPS, for example. It also has a lot of annoying issues. Namely, the messaging has problems. Also, this is an app for guys who live in larger cities.

What is the JSwipe dating app?

JSwipe is a mobile-only dating app that focuses on Jewish singles. You don't need to be Jewish to use the app. The app welcomes people of all denominations, however, most women are Jewish.

The app is not for men looking for casual dating. The majority of women are seeking long-term relationships. 

Are there women on JSwipe?

Don't expect a Tinder-like volume of women on JSwipe. There are women on this app, but not compared to apps such as eharmony or Match.com.

The majority of women on JSwipe are under 35. If you're a 40-year old male, JDate may be a better option. This app tends to focus on millennials.

Lastly, this app is best for men who live in larger cities—New York, Los Angeles, Miami, etc. If you are in a small town, you won't find many women on the app.

A Facebook account is required to use JSwipe.

JSwipe offers two types of memberships - free and paid.

JSwipe does offer a free membership. You get limited functionality, however. Here is what you can do with a free membership:

• Update your profile and add photos.
• 1 super swipe per day.
• Chat with women once you match with them.

For full functionality, you need a "First Class Membership." A first-class membership is a paid membership that offers these features:

• 5 free Super Swipes per day - Let's other members know that you have swiped them right.
• 1 free Swipe Note per day - Feature allowing you to message a woman before she likes your profile.
• Passport - Allows you to change your location and swipe female members around the world.
• Liked Me - View the profiles of women who like your profile.
• Read Receipts - Know when your messages are read by women.
• Unlimited Likes in Explore - View profiles of women near you, but may not be within your preferences.
• Most Eligible - View the full profiles of the most popular female members on JSwipe.
• Boost Profile - Your profile to be shown 2x more often, doubling your profile visibility and your potential for more matches.
• Optimize Photos - A feature that determines which photo gets the most right swipes. The app then selects your optimal photo to increases the number of right-swipes you receive.

How to cancel your subscription on JSwipe.

Canceling your subscription is easy. If you subscribed using your Apple ID, go to your iTunes account settings and cancel your subscription. If you subscribe through Google Play Store, open your subscriptions and cancel it. 

How to set up your profile on JSwipe

What filter settings are available?

JSwipe offers two ways to filter matches; distance and age. There's no filter for kids, education, smoker vs. non-smoker, pets, etc. 

The app allows you to categorize the "Jewish Preferences" of what you want in a woman. The app offers several denominations for you to choose from.

How does JSwipe work?

Similar to apps like Tinder or Bumble, you can swipe right on a woman's profile. When you swipe right, you are added to the woman's "liked me" list.

To start a conversation with a woman, she must swipe right on your profile. Once there's a mutual like, you can message each other.

There are two ways you can see a woman's profiles. The first is one by one, based on your preferences.

Heart - The heart icon indicates you are saying "Yes," or "Liking" a woman's profile. You can also swipe right on the profile for the same effect.

X - The X icon indicates a "No." You can also swipe left for the same action.

Star - The star is a Super Swipe, which indicates you already said "Yes" to the woman's profile.

Envelope - The envelope icon is a Swipe Note, which allows you to send a woman a message before swiping left or right. You get one Swipe Note with a premium membership; otherwise, you have to pay extra for this feature.

Location Icon - This icon launches the Passport feature, which allows you to swipe in other locations.

Undo - The undo icon allows you to change your last swiping selection. You can't change it if your choice resulted in a Match.

JSwipe offers another way to see potential matches. The app presents photos in the "Explore" and "Most Eligible" dispaly grids.

Explore - Displays women who are near you. You see the primary photos of women in a feed. This feature is not based on your distance filters.

Most Eligible - Displays the most popular women's profiles. The feed shows women's photos.

When you and a woman "like" each other, you are now considered a "match." Matching up with a woman allows you to send messages to each other.

Your match expires after 18 days.

Once you and a woman mutually like each other, the app sets a timer of 18 days. If one person doesn't communicate after 18 days, the match "expires," and the women disappear from your message queue.

Once someone sends a message, the time resets to 18 days. If you accidentally delete one of your chats or matches, it is not possible to restore it. You can match with them again in the future if you both swipe right on each other.

How to communicate with women on the app.

JSwipe offers several ways to contact women. 

Super Swipe - This will let women know you said "Yes" to their profile. Just tap the star icon, select an emoji, and send. First Class members can send up to 5 Super Swipes per day.

Send a message - When you match with a woman, you can send her a message directly.

Swipe Note - This is a premium feature (you need a paid membership). A swipe note allows you to chat with a woman before "matching" up with her. 

Only first-class members can send a chat message before matching with another member. Tap the envelope icon, write your message, and send it.

Even with a premium membership, you are limited to one swipe note per day. If you want to send more than one swipe note, you'll need to pay for them.

JSwipe Review - 7 out of 10 Final Score

JSwipe is a good choice if you are under 40 years old and looking for a long-term relationship with Jewish women 35 and under. This is not an app for casual dating or "just checking things out."

The women on this app are relationship-minded. The good news is many women are open to dating men who are not Jewish. Keep in mind, some of the women choose to only date Jewish men.

If you're over 40 years old and want to date a Jewish woman, JDate is a better choice. Maybe you don't care about religion and only want a relationship, then OkCupid and Hinge are better options for free apps. Match, Zoosk, and eharmony are better if you are willing to pay for a membership.

What's good about JSwipe.

I like that JSwipe focuses on Jewish singles looking for a relationship, but is open to people who aren't Jewish as well. Although the app doesn't have a Tinder-like volume of female members, it has a good number of active women.

JSwipe is simple and easy to learn. Navigating is intuitive, and the app has a nice look.

As with all "free" apps, the best way to use JSwipe is to pay the premium version. You have better features, but it's not necessary. You can still do well with JSwipe with the free version.

I like that you can change your location, so you aren't tied down to your GPS. This allows you to meet someone outside your area.

What's bad about JSwipe.

I have several issues with JSwipe. You need a Facebook account to use the app. The app gets all of your personal information from Facebook, so if you're not an active Facebook user or haven't updated your preferences in years, JSwipe shows women those settings.

Another issue is the app ignores your distance preferences. I live in San Diego and have a 50-mile limit, and I am constantly matched up with women in New York, Argentina, and even Israel. This is frustrating.

If you're over 40 and only want a Jewish partner, JDate is a better option. There are more younger women on this app than women over 40.

My biggest issue is that the app doesn't send you notifications when you receive a message or match with a woman. You must actively check the app to see if you get messages and matches.

Clover's claims it has "the simplicity of Tinder with the science of Match.com," and after spending time on it, it appears it does. Is the app a good way to meet women? Keep reading for the full review of the Clover dating app.

Clover is a mobile-only dating app (no desktop version) and has 3 million total users. Surprisingly, it has a lot of women on it; more women than I expected.

How good is the Clover app for guys? Is it worth exploring? What are the pros and cons of Clover? Let's dive into our review of the Clover dating app.

Is Clover free?

Clover is free to install, but that's about as far as it goes. You can add women as a favorite, join mixers (more on that below), set up your bio, and that's about it.

You must pay to send messages to female members. Other features included in a paid membership are seeing who looked at your profile, boosts, and using the "request date" feature.

Clover Profile Set Up

Setting up your profile on Clover is quick and painless. Of course, you must upload photos and have a written section in your bio. Clover has a few other features you can do to flesh out your profile fully.

1. Add photos to your profile.
2. Write your bio.
3. Fill in your personal details (optional).
4. Choose interests (optional).
5. Connect to Social Media (optional).

Let's dive into each of these in more detail.

1. Add photos to your profile.

Loading photos to your profile on Clover is like most dating apps. You can load photos from the following:

• Phone
• Facebook
• Instagram

Clover recommends adding at least 3 photos. You can sort the photos by clicking on them and moving them around.

Clover recommends these tips for your photos which I agree with 100%:

• Use clear images of your face.
• Look at the camera.
• Use group shots sparingly
• Take off your sunglasses
• Try to use pics that include you
• Avoid over-filtering.

2. Write your bio.

As of now, you are allowed up to 200 characters for your written bio. 200 characters aren't much, so it's important you keep your bio tight and on point.

3. Fill in your personal details.

Clover has a ton of information you can fill for your personal details. This is an optional section, but I recommend you add as much detail as you can.

Details include filling your height, body type, drinking, kids, religion. Sexual orientation and dating intentions (friends, chat, long-term) are also offered to allow you to complete your dating profile.

4. Select interests.

Clover has a unique feature where you can select from a list of interests that add depth to your bio. Choose several interests and make your bio stand out.

The list of interests Clover has is amazing. Everything you can think of is available.

You can even create your own interests to stand out. I recommend having fun with it as I do below where I created my own interest; Wine and Flirting.

5. Social media.

You can promote your social media on Clover. You can connect your profile with the  following:

• Twitter
• Instagram
• Snapchat

The app will show a link on your profile to your social media that women can click on.

Play 20 questions to highlight your personality.

​20 questions is a feature of Clover's that highlights your personality traits. Clover presents you two cards labeled with contrasting personality traits. For example, "I'm Predictable" vs. "I'm Spontaneous," or I'm Messy" vs. "I'm Organized." You choose the trait that best applies to you.

You can replay 20 questions as many times as you like. You get a different set of questions each time you play.

Women who view your profile can see your answers, and you can see theirs. 20 questions is a cool way to compare your profile with women's.

What are mixers?

Clovers offer "mixers," which are basically chat rooms. These are topic-based chat rooms with other members of the app. Some mixers include:

• Healthy Lifestyle
• Make New Friends
• Cuddle Club
• Walking Dead
• Wine Friends

​There are a ton of mixers, and you can join any mixer for free. Some mixers have a few thousand members, while others have 100,000 and over.

​You can create your own mixer as well for any topic. You can even create an event with a mixer. The app allows you to input an address, date, and time in this.

One thing I noticed in the mixers is a disproportionate number of men to women. And a lot of guys use it as a way to post selfies and ask women out.

How to message women on Clover

There's no swiping on Clover; you click on women's profiles to send messages. You hit "X" to pass, or you can send a message.

Sending messages on Clover is basic and easy. You either send a message to a woman, or you pass.

What is the Request Date feature on Clover?

Clover has a feature that allows you to set up a possible date in 2 clicks. You can click the Request Date icon on a woman's profile and cut to the chase by proposing a date.

Once you click on the "Request Date" icon, you can suggest a time or place to meet for a date. The woman will either confirm or not.

Clover has a great filtering tool.

Clover has a powerful filtering tool that stands above apps like Bumble, Facebook Dating, Hinge, and Tinder.

You can see below the options you can use to filter through potential matches. The filter feature is only available with a premium membership.

What are badges?

You earn badges on Clover for accomplishments you do on the app. There's really no benefit for these. Badges are similar to trophies on video games.

Examples of Badges I received include:

• Dedicated - Use the for app 7 days in a row.
• Night Owl - Use the app between 10 pm and 6 am.
• Comedian - Make 5 people laugh in a chat.
• Open book - Finish all 20 questions.
• Perfectionist - Add a bio, 5 photos, and 3 interest.

You can share the badges on social media, chat tools, emails, and texting people on your phone.

Boosts

Clover offers boosts, which is a paid feature separate from a paid membership. This means boosts aren't included in the basic paid membership; they are and add on feature.

According to Clover, boosts get you "10X more views." You'll see the thumbnails of users who "boosted" their profiles on top of your chat screen.

Clover Dating App Review - Final Thoughts

When I look at dating apps, I focus on two things:

1. Are there women on the app?
2. Does the app deliver what it promises?

As I mentioned, Clover claims it has "The simplicity of Tinder with the science of Match.com." The key is, does it?

Well, it required a bit more set up than Tinder and certainly has the filtering ability of Match.com, but you can't compare Clover with Match. They are two different apps completely.

I put Clover in the same category as Hinge, Bumble, Tinder, Facebook Dating, and Coffee Meets Bagel. So, is Clover a good app?

You will be happy to know that there are indeed a lot of women on this app (at least in San Diego where I live). However, it's not simpler than Tinder, nor does it seem to have a science behind it. 

Let's dive into the good and bad about Clover.

What's good about the Clover app.

Let's start with the "good" in our review of the Clover dating app. It's quick to get up and running on Clover. Load a few photos, write a short bio, and you're off to the races.

I was pleasantly surprised to find there are indeed women on Clover, quality women. There are more women on this app than I expected, which is a good starting point.

The messaging on Clover is clean. The app looks modern, and I never encountered any slowdown. I really like the interests feature and the ability to create your own because it helps your bio stand out.

Clover has a filtering tool that is second to none compared with apps such as Tinder, Bumble, Hinge, and Facebook Dating. Body type, hair color, school, drugs, smoking, etc. It's all here, which allows you to find women you really want.

I think 20 questions is a cool little feature as well. It's quick to do, and I like that you can retake it. The great thing is you can see it on a woman's profile and easily compare her answers with yours.

What's bad about the Clover app.

Now for the bad part of the review of the Clover dating app. First and foremost, this is an expensive app. It's too costly for me to recommend. The cost alone is the biggest reason I cannot recommend this app.

The app is mobile-only, which may be off-putting to some. It doesn't bother me, but some people still prefer desktop dating apps over phones.

There are women on Clover, but not as many as Tinder, Hinge, Bumble, or Facebook Dating. This is where the cost comes into play. If the app were free, I'd be more open to recommending you give it a try; but the fact you can reach more women on other free apps is a huge issue for me.

Clover is not an ideal app for men looking for relationships. This is an app for men looking to date casually. If you are looking for something long-term, I'd recommend Hinge over Clover.

I also encountered more fake accounts and spammers on Clover compared to other dating apps. These fake profiles are easy to recognize. The "women" are typically 19 years old and share a blatantly fake email address in their bio.

Keep your eyes open for these fakes. I give credit to Clover, though, as the fakes were quickly removed from the app.

The mixers are a complete waste. They are filled with dudes looking for dates. For every girl that posts something, 10 guys are looking for a date in the mixers.

I cannot recommend the Clover app right now. Hinge, Bumble, and Tinder are simply better options. Those apps are free and have more women on them; a lot more women.

This doesn't mean Clover is a bad app. It's pretty good, but the cost is too much. I would only recommend this if you have Tinder fatigue and want to try something different.
