Religion - Only answer this if religion is important to you. Women on the same page are more likely to contact you when answering this question.
Smoking - If you smoke, answer "socially." Note - statistically speaking, smokers get fewer responses.
Body type - Unless you're super fit, "average" is your best option. Studies show women are open to various body types, even if they "show a body type preference."

Living In - Update this with the city you're living in. Women are apprehensive of men who are traveling, so sharing you live in the city is beneficial.

Don't get me wrong - you won't get a flood of messages because of your job title or school, but they can impact your results positively. So it's better to fill them out rather than leave them blank.

Don't overlook your profile traits.

Women read your bio. It's a myth that women swipe right based on photos alone. So don't underestimate the importance of a well-written bio.

Write a few short sentences describing yourself. Anything you do is fair game. Do you like traveling? Share a recent adventure. Can you cook? Describe your best dish? Share your favorite things to do on the weekend, a goal, or a funny philosophy.

You have limited real estate for a bio on Tinder. This isn't Match.com, so you can't write a lengthy bio. Keep it short and to the point.

You'll be shown a pose and will be asked to copy that pose by taking a selfie.
Confirm that your selfie matches the pose and hit "Submit for review."
Repeat steps 4 & 5 one more time.

Tinder will verify your photo. Once verified, a checkmark will appear on your profile. That little blue checkmark will boost your results.

Tinder allows you to pick a maximum of five Passions (and a minimum of three). I recommend choosing all five. Here are the steps to add Passions to your Tinder bio:

Open Tinder and click on your profile icon.
Tap on the pencil icon by your profile photo.
Scroll down the list and click on "Passions."
You can select a maximum of 5 and a minimum of 3 Passions. You have to pick at least 3.
Tap on "Done" once you are through and you are good to go.

Sure, the Passions on Tinder aren't that deep. But, the great thing about them is they are displayed front and center on your bio. So, as a result, women may connect with you, seeing similar interests on your profile.

Passions allow women to connect based on similar interests.

6. Connect your Tinder profile to Instagram.

Connecting your Instagram account adds a little more flavor to your Tinder profile. As a result, women get a little more insight into what makes you unique.

You must put up a fantastic profile on Hinge. The app found 57% of women said they didn't respond to men's messages because they "took a closer look at the person's profile."

Follow the steps below to fix your profile on Hinge. You'll get more responses, likes, and matches on Hinge following them.

Photo 1. Use a picture of yourself smiling at the camera. A man's smile is the first thing women look at in pictures. Hinge found you're 76% more likely to receive a like/swipe when you smile, showing teeth.

Also, look at the camera. One study found men are 102% more likely to receive a like when looking at the camera.

It's better to write something like this about an active lifestyle: "I live an active lifestyle. It can be a hike at Daly Ranch or kayaking in Mission Bay. The outdoors keeps me physically fit, mentally strong and brings me balance. Even a simple walk in the sun is enough to recharge my batteries."

Which do you think grabs a woman's attention more? My sentence about an active lifestyle or the words "being active?" The answer is obvious.

If you want to fix your profile on OkCupid, avoid listing facts. Instead, add some depth to your bio about your hobbies and interests.

3. Stop telling women you can't see likes.

Never write that you can't see likes in your profile. The phrase adds no benefit and is a cliché on OkCupid. Below is a common site for women on the app.

Yes, women also write that they can't see likes. That doesn't mean it's acceptable for you to include it in your bio.

Stop counting likes. Don't worry about how many women like you. If you're that worried about likes, pay the premium membership so you can see them.

It's a simple equation; bad photos = bad results. If you're not seeing results on OkCupid, the first step is looking at pictures.

Smile in your pictures. Show teeth; smirks do not count.
Look at the camera. Always maintain eye contact so women can see your eyes.
Showcase your hobbies/interests. OkCupid found people who show themselves doing something interesting have a 40% higher chance of receiving more messages.
Add a full-body picture so women can see you from head to toe. It looks like your hiding something if women cannot see your entire body.
Clean yourself up. Be presentable in your pictures. Dress nicely, but don't overdo it. OkCupid found outfits that are more sophisticated than a simple collared shirt fared poorly.

Put some effort into your bio. Remember #2 above, don't just list facts. Expand on things. For example, if you enjoy traveling, write what you like about traveling or share a funny story about your adventures.

6. Choose the right prompts.

Don't ignore your prompts. The purpose of these is in their name; they can "prompt" women to message you.

OkCupid allows you to choose from 50 prompts. Here are a few examples:

I like to make...
A perfect day...
My worst date...

To say you have options is an understatement. But which prompts should you choose? First, always select the "Self-summary" to write your bio. As for the rest, it's trickier.

Some prompts are harder to answer than others. Never answer a prompt with one or two words.

For example, if you choose, "I could probably beat you at..." don't write "Monopoly." It's not engaging.

This is how I would answer the prompt, "Just about any board game. I don't "play" board games... I WIN at board games." Look at how the woman below reacts to my prompt.

Humor, confidence, and challenging women make for a great prompt.

Prompts allow you to highlight your personality and express yourself. Insert some humor and confidence in your answers. Challenge women. Remember #5 above; put some effort into your bio.

Lastly, I recommend answering 3- 4 prompts. You don't have to answer all of the ones available.

OkCupid allows you to add captions to your photo. It's a great idea to add captions because they allow you to expand on your personality further. This means more chances to grab a woman's interest.

Smart marketers add captions to photos in magazines and in online ads. Why? Because they know people read them. Using captions gives an added boost to sales.

Captions are as effective on dating app photos as they are selling products online. Yet, most men don't use captions. That's a huge mistake. You'll get an advantage by captioning your pictures.

Lastly, another benefit is OkCupid shows you in OkCupid Discover when captioning pictures. This feature allows you to connect with women who share similar interests.

8. Remove all negativity from your bio.

A great profile highlights your strengths and showcases your personality. It shows you're a man who's worth meeting.

The website Word Tips polled over 1,000 people about grammar's importance on dating apps. 45% of women said they wouldn't be interested in someone who is "very physically attractive but used improper grammar or spelling."

Examples of bad grammar include the wrong use of "they're," "their," and "there." Another example is using the word "alot" instead of "a lot." Using the misspelled "alot" results in a decrease in responses by 12%.

It takes seconds to check your profile. Take a few minutes to check your bio for spelling mistakes - it's THAT important.

POF recommends "stop writing checklists on what you’re not looking for in a partner, instead focus on the positives and what you’d love to do on a first date, or what you’d like to chat about."

Below, the guy shares he's open to monogamy or non-monogamy. He also shares several things he's looking for; friends, short-term dating, long-term dating, and hookups. In his bio, he writes he's looking for a relationship. Do you see the mistake?

The guy above is all over the place. A high percentage of women bypass this guy because he isn't aware of this mistake. Pay attention. Remember, everything on your profile matters.

When it comes to your bio, be sure to write about yourself in an engaging, friendly, fun way. Also, add depth. Too often, guys make the mistake of listing facts.

The profile below is a bad dating profile example because the guy just shares what he's doing. There's nothing but factual statements. He's a Graphic Designer and Venue Director.

The guy above loves his job. Great. But why? His mistake is not writing about why he loves it. For example, how it's fulfilling, a challenge, allows him to express his creativity, etc.

Whenever you write about yourself, make sure you add depth behind it. You like traveling? Share a recent travel adventure. You enjoy fitness. Write about how it makes you feel? Make sense?

5. Not Looking at The Camera.

The first thing women look at in your photo is your smile. The second thing is your eyes. Unfortunately, a lot of men use fake poses like the one below. These don't help you one bit.

Looking away from the camera doesn't help your results.

Here's a fact, tilting your head down is NOT attractive to women. Why? Because hanging your head down conveys "shame," which is never a good thing.

In one survey, 88% of people viewing photos viewed the hottest pictures as those with the subject making eye contact with the viewer. It's important you look at the camera and smile in your photos on OkCupid.

6. Lack of Effort.

Writing little to nothing about yourself on OkCupid shows women you aren't serious about meeting someone. A bio like the one below shows laziness. If you can't put effort into your bio, women will think you won't put effort into a relationship.

Your bio is a way to market yourself to women. A well-written bio sharing your interests, hobbies, and passions helps you stand out. Add little quirks, some humor, and confidence, and you'll get more responses, right swipes, and "Likes." If you half-ass it, you will get half-ass results… always.

7. Bedroom Photos.

A huge blunder is using photos taken in the bedroom. All too often, guys lay, typically shirtless, gazing into the camera with their "come hither" look.

When you use this type of photo, you aren't respecting the boundaries of women who look at your pictures. The website Photofeeler found photos like these come across as "predatory" to women.

A bedroom photo puts women viewing it in an awkward position. It can come across as being overly forward and aggressive. So, remember: using that picture you took in bed is not without real consequences.

8. Writing Lists.

Listing every TV show, movie, book, and musical act you enjoy is a mistake. A profile like the one below is too much for women to process.

You may think listing everything you enjoy is a great way to find a match on OkCupid, but the reality is it's a bad idea. Listing more of your interests makes you less desirable to women.

That's right: "The MORE a woman knows about you in terms of your likes and preferences, the LESS she will like you." Studies show that when people exchange a lot of information, they find more reasons to believe they are very different.

When you start listing your favorite TV shows', music, books, movies, etc., the women reading your profile may turn away. The reason is they tell themselves you both have less and less in common reading through your interests.

Why? Because when you start listing everything you are into, you are going to list some things women may not like. It could be an specific movie, musician or TV show. You don't know what might turn women away. You need a little mystery.

TV shows, movies, and music aren't necessarily deal-breakers. You don't want a woman to see anything in your profile that makes her think: "I'm not into that" or "I don't like that."

It's better to list one or two shows at most. You can also write genres. For example, instead of "The Walking Dead," share that you enjoy "any show with zombies."

This post shows you how to choose (and answer) the best Hinge prompts in a way that appeals to women. I even include a few examples to inspire your answers.

Step #1. Choose the right topic.

You can select up to three topics for your profile. You can answer whichever three you like, but I recommend choosing topics that allow you to express yourself. It's harder to connect with a lot of women answering, "Give me travel tips for."

Hinge offers a variety of topics, so you have options. There's no right or wrong topic, but you should focus on ones that allow you to highlight your personality, beliefs, values, thoughts, etc.

When you answer correctly, women will read your answer and thinks, "Yes, me." The woman below does that. Take a chance with a question like this - the payoff is women will reach out to you.

The key to a good profile on OurTime is depth. The majority of men on dating apps put up lackluster profiles with zero effort. Bad photos, clichés, and negativity are common mistakes.

1. Use good photos in your profile.

The first thing women see is your photos. You want a good impression, so you must use diverse pictures in your profile.

Unfortunately, most men use photos that turn women off. Ditch the car selfies, pictures of your dog, and never use a photo where you're not in the shot.

Here are a few photo tips that can help you stand out:

Smile and when you do, show your teeth.
Show yourself engaged in your hobbies or passions.
Don't hide any part of your face - no sunglasses/hats.

4. Select three "Profile Questions" to compliment your dating profile.

OurTime gives you the option for answering up to three profile questions. You can choose different topics. These questions add variety to your bio, and it's important to write a few sentences about whichever topic you choose.

The app limits you to 200 characters for each question, so get to the point. Don't write long-winded sentences. Here are the three questions you can answer.

In a Nutshell - Write about yourself in this section. Don't just list facts.

Men typically write boring profiles because they list things they do - "I like hiking, traveling, dancing, and staying in but going out." Boring!

Any topic is fine; make sure you add depth. Write something like this:

I'm fun, energetic, affectionate, active, and I am 100% sure I can beat you at any bar game (pools, darts, trivia, etc.). I know THE BEST spot in town for Happy Hour.

Again, insert some personality. Women want to get excited at the thought of meeting you.

The one I am looking for - Share what you want in a partner. Hey, you know yourself better than me. Be honest about what you're looking for in your answer.

Whatever you do, keep it positive. Don't list what you "aren't" looking for on OurTime. Often, men write, "I'm not here for games" or "Don't message me if..." Ugh. Don't do that.

I'd just like to add - Here, you can write anything. Maybe write some of your goals, a few hobbies, talents, useless skills. Heck, even a philosophy.

I use this section to flesh out my profile. Adding more about myself that doesn't fit in the "In A Nutshell" section: I love hikes followed by fish tacos (and margaritas), the beach re-energizes me, spend too much time at Home Depot, always up for a road trip, and I'm still looking for the best sushi in town.

5. "Personality Questions" are available (but not necessary).

Ourtime has personality questions that give greater insight into who you are. The app presents you questions where you choose an answer from a list. The app presents only a handful of questions, so you can easily answer them in under a minute.

The personality questions aren't critical, so answer them if you want.

Feel free to answer these honestly. I don't answer the personality questions. I don't think they add value nor boost responses.

Answering the questions won't hurt you, but they don't add insight into who you are. It's your call.

6. Don't ignore the "My Top Interests" section.

You can choose up to three interests that display on your profile. I recommend answering all three because these can act as more ways to hook women in and grab their attention.

Similar to personality questions, OurTime presents you with a variety of categories. Within each category are various interests you can select and expand on. Here are a few of the options:

Activities and Hobbies - crafts and creating, games, nature and outdoors, sports, etc.
Culture and Entertainment - arts, movies, music, dancing, etc.
Life and Spirit - career, education, family and friends, travel, etc.

Choose three and write a few sentences in each. OurTime gives a lot of options here so, focus on what's important to you.

For example, I would write this in the fitness option: I love working out and the outdoors. It keeps me balanced and helps me maintain my rugged good looks. 🙂

A short hike, kayaking in Mission Bay, or Even a walk around Balboa Park is good for the soul (and body).

Choose and answer 3 topics - add depth, humor, and energy.

7. The "Message Ideas" section is optional.

OurTime presents several questions you can select, which, according to them, is a "great way to help you learn about those who contact you." You can choose up to 4 questions women may answer when sending you a message.

I don't use these because this section because the questions are so generic. Feel free to choose a few if you want.

The question seems forced and something you ask on a job interview. For example, "describe for of your main goals in life?" It's just boring.

If you engagingly write about yourself in the other sections of your profile, these aren't necessary. I recommend ignoring the questions, but it's your call.

Message ideas are a nice idea, but you can ignore choosing these.
