Do you remember this scene from the movie Scarface where Tony Montana says “The eyes Chico, they never lie..”

The scene was funny due to a previous scene in the film but the point he makes about the eyes is correct.

Women can decode eye language quite well.

In fact, women are much better than men at deciphering how your eyes are behaving. One study found that women could decode eye language 88% of the time.

I read an article in a recent Cosmopolitan magazine that “decoded” a guys eye language with details about our mindset based on where we were looking.

That’s right, Cosmopolitan can a be a great resource for men and I’m presenting you some of the information they are giving their readers about what’s going on in that head of yours based on your eye movement.

The eye movement description is based on your perspective, not the observers or person across from you.

Looking Up and to Your Right

When you look up to your right you are accessing the visual part of your imagination. Here you are constructing a picture in your head.

If you ask someone to imagine a green sky with red clouds they should look up and to their right.

This is a signal that you are lying.

Looking Up and to Your Left

When you look up to your left it’s an indication that your are reminiscing or trying to remember something.

When someone moves their eyes up and to their left it means that they are accessing the visual part of their memory. In this person’s head, they are visualizing objects, colors, movements, and other visual information that pertains to your conversation.

The eye language shows you are trying to remember something and is an indication that you are being honest.

If you want to see someone do this a good question to ask them is, “What color is your car?”

Your Eyes Darting Back and Forth

Darting eyes could be a sign that you are looking for an escape route. You may be looking for a possible distraction from the situation you find yourself in.

Darting eyes is also a sign of insecurity.

The eye language you are conveying is that you have nothing to talk about so plan ahead before your date. Have a few things you can fall back on when you find yourself in those awkward silences.

Your Eyes Looking Down and to the Right

When you think about your feelings or emotions you will look down and right.

Often when people say “I feel…” they will glance down and right, and you can know they are actually thinking about how they feel.

This shows you aren’t listening so pay attention!

Your Eyes Looking Down and to the Left

Someone that is talking to themselves or thinking about what they are about to say next will look down and to the left.

You can see this for yourself by asking someone how a conversation went and they will look down and to their left (observe crazy people when they are blabbering to themselves and they’ll usually be using this eye direction).
