There's no hard rule for which message you should get a woman's number. It can be your second or third message, or your tenth and beyond.

You should go for a woman's number once there's a connection. There should be a natural ebb and flow in the conversation.

You should be able to read a woman's energy. When you feel it, take action. Don't hesitate. Ever.

WARNING - Don't Ask For A Number Passively.

Most men use passive approaches when asking for a number. Examples of this include:

• Would you like to exchange numbers?
• Maybe we could text.
• Here's my number (XXX-XXX-XXXX), if you're interested.
• Let me know if you want to text.

Read the messages above out loud. You can see that they are passive. They lack confidence.

Eliminate words such as "if," "maybe," "would," or "could" from your messages on Tinder. It takes time. Think about what you're writing in your message. Eventually, you'll eliminate these words from your messages.

Several years ago, I created my phrase for getting a woman's number on Tinder. It's straightforward, confident, and works almost every time (more on that later).

Here are the steps to follow:

1. Tell the woman to give you her number.
2. Give a reason.
3. Share your number.

Yes, it's that simple. Use this message, "Send me your number. It's easier to text. Here's mine, XXX-XXX-XXXX."

I've been using this approach for years, and it's highly effective. Let's break down why this message works so well:

Send me your number - I'm not asking for the woman's number. There's no passive approach. It shows supreme confidence. 

It's easier to text - I give a reason why the woman should give me her number. Is it easier to text? Not really. It doesn't matter, though. Like some Jedi mind trick, the phrase works, so use it.

Here's mine, XXX-XXX-XXX - I give the woman the option to either text or give me her number in the response. Either choice results in me getting her number, so it's a win-win.

It's Not 100% Foolproof.

Although I use this approach to seal the deal, it doesn't always work 100% of the time. I put my success with this at around 95% successful. Below is an example of a woman's response when I use my phrase.

The woman above told me she had a bad experience after sharing her number. Unfortunately, it's a common problem. All it takes is one guy to ruin it for the rest of us.

There are other reasons women may not want to give you their number. The reasons include:

• They want to use an app (FaceTime, KIK) and make sure you look like your photos.
• They want to meet you first because of past experiences. Typically, the woman gives her number, meets the guy, tells him not interested, and then gets nasty texts.
• Some women prefer to keep the conversations on Tinder for safety reasons. They aren't ready yet to swap numbers.

If a woman doesn't want to swap numbers, respect it. Don't argue or try to change her mind. It won't work. Arrange a date on the app, meet her, and take it from there. If the date goes well, a woman will always give you her number afterward.
