How To Get A One Night Stand With A Girl: Be Hot!

A study has uncovered the secret to how to get a one night stand with a woman; be hot! This should come as no surprise; your best chances to get laid is to be “physically appealing.”  In another shocking discovery, the Earth rotates.

Seriously, I’m not sure how surprising the findings of the study are but it’s interesting how they came to their conclusion.

Studies Show Men Are Easy

It’s no surprise women are more selective than men for a one night stand.  Men, well we’re easy while women need to be attracted to a man to have sex.  We just need the woman to have a pulse.  I dated a girl who once told me “men will have sex with anything” and science backs this up.

One study, Sexual strategies theory: an evolutionary perspective on human mating, found men were much more willing than women to have sex after any length of the acquaintance from 1 hour up to 5 years.

In another study, Gender differences in receptivity to sexual offers, when approached by an opposite-sex stranger who immediately made an invitation for casual sex; 75% of men said “yes” whereas 100% of women said “no.”

Women need to be attracted to men for a fling but to what extent? What characteristics/traits are important to women for a one night stand?  One study, “Sex similarities and differences in preferences for short-term mates: what, whether, and why” analyzed the criteria and priorities that women have for “purely sexual relationships” thereby answering how to get a one night stand with women.

Budgeting For A One Night Stand

The study was comprised of several parts. In the first part of the study, female participants at Arizona State University were given a “budget” of “mate dollars” to spend on different characteristics for a “one-night stand partner.”

The characteristics included:

• physical attractiveness
• kind and understanding
• exciting personality
• social status
• creativity



Once the female participant had fully allocated a budget and was satisfied, she indicated how likely she would be to accept such a mate if encountered in real life.

The results were that women spent most of their budgets on physical attractiveness with social status coming in second. Social status and kindness were far behind physical attributes.

You can see by the photo that physical attractiveness was a necessity for how to get a one night stand, while creativity was a luxury; meaning not that important.

Budgeting For A Sexual Affair

Another part of the study took 3 distinct traits to determine how to get a one night stand with women;

• Warmth/trustworthiness
• Attractiveness/vitality
• Status/resources



The female participants were asked about a partner for a sexual affair and in a similar fashion to the first part of the study, were given a budget to spend on the traits above.

For one-night stands, physical attractiveness was a necessity to women while warmth and social status was a luxury.

Physical Traits And One Night Stands

Female participants were then asked to consider a casual sex encounter and to list, as specifically as possible, up to four things they would find physically attractive about such a partner and why each item would be important to them.

For women, most of their body/build items referred to:

1. Muscularity
2. Upper body strength
3. Physical fitness (e.g., muscular arms, wide shoulders, athletic)

A smile was also important to women as well as good teeth. Women also mentioned masculine items such as a good jaw and strong jawline. Women also liked good and strong structure facial features.

For height, 100% of women’s specifications pertained to the man being tall or taller than themselves. There was also a tendency for women to specify dark features (e.g., hair, skin).

Final Thoughts

There were several more tests in the study but the results were all the same. The answer to the question “How to get a one night stand with a woman?” is easy; be physically attractive.  For short-term flings, women value several traits in a man but prioritize physical attractiveness.

The study indicated that, by far, the most likely reason why a woman had or considered casual sex was being physically attracted to a man. When asked what features are physically attractive, women favored the body.  The key features of an “attractive” man’s body are that it is muscular and tall.
