How You Can Get More Likes On Dating Apps
If you want to get more likes on dating apps, make sure you add depth to your bio, use the right photos, and keep your bio current. Counting likes isn't your primary goal; meeting women is! However, likes can kick-start conversations that help you succeed in dating apps.
If you're not doing well, it may be time to look at your dating profile. Make sure your profile is in order using the Ninja Online Dating Tune-Up, so you can get likes, have women swipe right, and start conversations with women.
If you're hurting for attention and need help, here are five ways you can get more likes on dating apps.
1. Add depth to your self-summary.
The last thing you want is a yawn, inspiring dating profile. You must stand out if you want to capture women's attention. The first key is adding depth to your bio.
For example, most men write how they like something without providing details or proof. Let's take cooking; a typical man will write how he enjoys cooking and that it.
A better approach is sharing how you enjoy cooking. Write about what you enjoy about cooking and why you enjoy it. Here's what I wrote on my bio on PlentyOfFish (POF).
"One of my passions is cooking. It's fun and allows me to be creative in the kitchen. I enjoy making up my recipes, different styles, and endless possibilities, and of course, delicious food. My go-to side dish is cauliflower mash mixed with spicy paprika and garlic. It's divine and goes with everything."
You can see how this description of my love of cooking helps my bio stand out. The benefit it women react like this woman on POF.
If you're on apps like Tinder or Bumble, where you don't have as much room to write about yourself, keep your bio crisp and on point. On apps that present questions, answer with more than one word as I do below on Hinge.
You must put some effort into your bio. Remember this; a half-assed bio gets you half-assed results.

2. Use action photos.
A good way to get likes is by using action photos. Bungee jumping, hiking, trail running, sky diving, kayaking, white water rafting, participating in an obstacle course, mountain biking, and indoor go-karts are a few examples.
The beauty of action photos is they catch the eye and stand out. You show you aren't a homebody who sits on the couch all the time. Women like a guy who has a sense of adventure.
Here's an example of a bungee jumping photo I use, which has started countless conversations.
I recommend only using one extreme action photo. More than one action photo may signal to a woman you're too extreme for her.
Next time you're on a hike, have someone take a picture. It may cause a woman to not only like your photo, but start a conversation.
3. Keep your bio current.
You should update your profile regularly, which prevents it from going stale. An example is listing your favorite shows on Netflix or Amazon Prime.
If you share you're watching Stranger Things season 1 right now, women may think you haven't updated your bio in ages. List a show you're currently watching and share why you enjoy it. Women may see that and like your bio, or comment on it.
Keep your photos current as well. If it's June, don't use photos of yourself snowboarding, and if it's winter, don't use photos from the previous summer. And for goodness sake, keep all Halloween pictures off your profile.
You can update your profile with these type of things:
- A recent personal accomplishment or goal.
- A new hobby.
- A recent recipe you mastered making.
- A movie/concert/show you've seen or a book you read.
- A recent adventure, possibly a place you visited for vacation.
The point is, update your bio to prevent it from going stale. A woman who passed on you, may revisit your bio and see something new she likes.
4. Smile in your pictures!
A great way you can get more likes on dating apps is simple. Look at the camera and smile. I can't believe how many men don't smile in their photos.
Match.com found the first thing women look at in a photo is your smile. According to Match, 71% of women judge a man by his teeth.
A smile is warm and inviting. Smiling makes you likable. You don't look like a creep, and most importantly, women love a good smile!
5. Show confidence and humor.
Women don't react to boring; they like seeing confidence and humor. Take the example below from Bumble. I answer the "My secret skill" question with a little humor.
You see how women respond. They not only like my answer but start conversations with me because they find it funny. Remember, always inject humor in your bio.
Another tip for getting more likes on dating apps is showing confidence. Women react positively to confident men.
Below is my answer to the "I'm looking for" question Hinge. I don't hesitate writing what I want in a partner and find women not only like my answers but swipe right and start conversations with me on every dating app when I answer questions similarly to below.
When it comes to describing yourself or answering questions like the ones above, don't write what you think women want to hear; how you're a nice guy or a total catch. That's the approach most men use in their bio, and it's wrong.
Instead, show some confidence and describe what you want. Show women, you're an alpha who knows what he wants and not some beta who hopes women choose you.
