How To Stand Out On A Dating Site To Get Dates With Women
Need help meeting women? Here's how to stand out and meet women on dating sites. 5 easy changes which will improve your results on any dating site.
When women look at your profile and don't send you messages, something is off-putting on your profile.
It's impossible to know why women ignore you. You can't exactly send this message to women "Hey, can you to tell me what turned you away on my dating profile?"
The simple fact is you can't appeal to all women. It's not going to happen. But you can make changes today that can have a positive effect and help you turn it around.
Here are a few tips for how to stand out on a dating site and impress women in the process.
Use Good Photos
Here is an example of an awful dating profile portfolio:
You need a great profile portfolio to generate interest from women.
Here are a few tips that show you how to stand out on a dating site.
- No selfies. They are a dime a dozen and are never impressive. Especially half-naked selfies where your toilet is in the background.
- You are in all your photos. Wow, another photo of the beach. Wow, a photo of a sunset. Even better, a photo of your car. Lame.
- You are in the middle of all group shots. Women don't have time to scan pictures looking for you. Place yourself in the center because that's where people focus first.
I share more information about taking a great photo in this blog post; How To Take Good Dating Profile Photos For Men.
A few more photo tips...
- Don't use scanned photos.
- No photos in black and white.
- Include a few full body pictures.
- No professional photos that make you look like you are a real estate agent (save those for Linkedin).
- No pictures of your kids.
- Share photos of yourself engaging in your passions or hobbies.
Check Your Username
Look at this lame username I found as soon as I logged onto a dating site.
Do you want to know how to stand out on a dating site? Pick a creative username.
Look at it from a woman's perspective. Do you think a woman will react positively if she sees that she received an email from "woodznutz1"??????
Hell no she wouldn't.
Horrible usernames are all too common for men on dating sites.
Create a username that raises her interest level. Put in a little thought in your username. It's the first thing a woman will see in her inbox.
I discuss how to easily create a good username in this post; How To Create A Good Dating Site Username.
Oh, and don't use your real name. Do I have to explain why?
Put Effort Into Your Written Section
Look at this lame profile:
These type of profiles are a dime a dozen. Are descriptions like these going to create interest? Nope.
Give it a little thought. Take the time to sit down and introduce yourself and share a little information beyond lists and cliches.
Whatever you say you are, show it. Like to travel. Great. Where and why.
Enjoy being outdoors? Awesome... share what you enjoy doing outside and why.
You love what you do for work? Perfect. Expand on why you enjoy it.
Do you understand what needs to be done? Thought so.
Don't Leave Choices Blank
When filling out your profile be sure you never choose this:
It looks like you are hiding something if you ignore questions that women find important. Fill out your profile completely.
Studies show these questions can impact if a woman decides to respond to you or not. Believe it!
Spellcheck Everything!
Your spelling is critical. As I've pointed out in a previous blog post, a large percentage of women will judge you on your spelling and grammar: Why Grammar Is Critical In Your Dating Profile About Me Section.
Take a few seconds to spell check your profile before posting it, especially if you can't tell the difference between "their" and "they're."
Here are a few facts:
- Zoosk found 72% of online daters are turned off by bad grammar.
- Zoosk also found 48% consider bad grammar to be a deal breaker.
- 96% of women think bad grammar is a turn-off according to Match.com.
Misspelled words is a signal of your intelligence to women, so you owe it to yourself to give it a once over and check for errors.
Bonus Online Dating Tip
If you really want to know how to stand out, you need to do a little homework assignment. Yes, homework...
...bear with me.
Whatever site you are on, log in and search for men seeking women. Sites like Match will let you look at "Men seeking women".
Others like POF won't let you. You'll have to create a fake female profile to search for men who are looking for women. No worries. Just fill out the bare minimum to create a fake profile.
Once you can look at all the guys who are looking for women, take a second to re-read your profile first to remind yourself of how you present yourself to women.
I did this and wrote about it in this blog post; I Went Undercover As A Hot Girl On A Dating Website.
Next, start looking at men's dating profiles who are within your age range and look at the following:
- Their usernames
- The photos they use on their profile.
- How they write about themselves.
- Note grammar and spelling errors.
- Pay attention to how men usually share nothing about themselves.
You will quickly see how all men say the same thing; including you. This shows you need to revamp your dating profile.
If you just follow the tips above you will stand out from all the other men on your dating site.
