A Hungry Man Prefers Heavier Women

There’s an old saying, “A hungry man is an angry man.”

This should apparently be replaced by “A hungry man finds heavier women HOTTER!“

This according to a couple of studies about men and female attraction.

Can hunger actually change your perception of attractiveness? Does an empty stomach really have that much of an impact?

According to several studies, the answer is yes.

That’s right, a hungry man will prefer a woman with curves.

Hungry Man Study

In one study concluded by The University of Westminster, 124 men were shown images of women with five different body shapes.

Half the men in the study had not eaten for six hours, while the rest had full stomachs.

The men who were hungry rated curvy women as significantly more attractive. They also preferred women with larger breasts.

In another study, Does hunger influence judgments of female physical attractiveness?, male students at a university were asked to take part in a study as they entered or exited a campus dining hall during dinner.

The final sample consisted of 30 hungry participants and 31 participants who were full.

They were asked to rate black and white images of 50 real women. The faces of the women were obscured so that they couldn’t be identified and so that their faces wouldn’t impact the men’s ratings.

Again, the results were that hungry men preferred heavier women than did men who were full.

Self Test

After reading about these studies about why a hungry man likes curvy women I decided to test this theory myself.

It’s wasn’t very scientific but I decided to use Google Images and type in “curvy women” and “thin women” and see which I thought were more attractive.

Of course I did this on an empty stomach.

The problem is that “Sofia Vergara” came up as curvy right off the bat. I think all men, hungry or full, would find this woman attractive don’t you?

There were a ton of images with attractive women when I searched “curvy women” on Google Images so I don’t think this is a very accurate way to self test.

I would very much like to have access to the photos that were shown to the students in the study. Unfortunately the published study didn’t have the pictures on it.

So using Google Images wasn’t the best way to test this and I gave up.

Conclusion

The studies show that a hungry man prefers a curvy woman.

Keep in mind curvy is not obese.

So why do men who are hungry view curvier women more attractive?

The studies conclude it may be an evolutionary thing; a survival instinct that we have because a heavier woman may suggest a better provider for food.

A heavier women apparently has the resources to find food and is obviously it shows due to the curvy body type she has.

I found it interesting that hungry men prefer women with bigger breasts.

I don’t know about you, but hungry or full, I like big breasted women. My stomach growling has no impact on this as far as I’m concerned.

But that’s just me.

I’ve never thought about how attractive a woman is while I’m hungry.

I very well may find curvy women hotter when I’m starving.

I would really have liked to see the photos or at least examples of photos of these women so I could gauge what exactly “curvy” meant in the study.

Type in “curvy women” like I did on Google and you’ll see a ton of hot women so I’m not sure my approach was the best way to look at the study.

Next time you are hungry take a look at women around you; in the office, at the store, or wherever you are and think about which women you are finding most attractive at that point.

It’s not a very scientific method but hey, you may realize why all of a sudden you are attracted to a woman you wouldn’t otherwise think about.
