Men Over 40 Are Ignored By Younger Women
A recent study discovered men over 40 are basically invisible to younger women. Yep, at age 39, men are deemed "sexually invisible" to younger women.
Say it ain’t so! As a card carrying member of the "Men Over 40" club I was not happy when I heard about a new study that concluded younger women find men over 40 "invisible." Invisible?
Ouch. Let’s get to the study and see how on point it is.
Sexually Invisible At 39
The study by Crown Clinic Manchester concluded that at age 39 men become "sexually invisible" to younger women.
In the survey, 62% of women assumed that men at this age are attached and thus not worth hitting on.
Men over 40 are seen as father figures more than sex symbols.
Study and Online Dating
At first I found this study surprising, then the more I thought about it the more I realized how often I see younger women writing on their dating profiles:
"Don’t write me if you are old enough to be my dad."
"Not interested in men over 40."
I also notice how many younger women have a cutoff age of 39 – 40 years old.
5 Signs You Are An Invisible Man
According to the study, there are 5 signs men over 40 become "invisible" to younger women:
- Women no longer eye you up in the bar.
- Graying hair.
- Double chin.
- Thinning hair.
- Bad teeth.
It’s worth nothing that the study was done by a hair and eyelash transplant place.
Final Thoughts
Should men over 40 worry about being seen as invisible by younger women? Absolutely not.
Many women indicate a cutoff age around 40 years old on their dating profiles. But many younger women are open to dating men over 40.
Older men tend to be more mature, stable, and established among other things. Don’t let this study give you the wrong idea that all younger women are not attracted to men over 40.
I know plenty of men over 40 who date women in their 30’s and 20’s. Be confident and you will find success.
Oh, and never lie about your age. Believe me, if you get caught in a lie, it’s game over because once a woman finds out you lied about something on your dating profile, she’ll suspect you lied about everything else.
So I’m going to have to go ahead and disagree with you there. I live in Austin Texas where the ratio of men to women it’s something like to women to every man. There is an abundance, an abundance of beautiful women in Austin. I’ve always been a good looking guy I’ve never had a problem getting a date when I wanted one or pursuing a woman and getting her. Well of course I’ve had problems but you know not big problems that some guys have. But since I turned 40 and I’m 43 now, I might as well be a paperweight or some other insignificant inanimate object to women. As a matter of fact, I’ve noticed the women now will turn their head away and purposely not look at me like they’re staring up at the Moon, making it super super obvious that they are purposely not looking at me and they are not interested. And this isn’t just one or two whatever. I’m talking all of them dude all of them all of them all of them. And I’m a little worried to tell you the truth. I was not prepared for this.
Thanks for your comment Scott. What about dating apps? Have you tried those? What’s your experience?
I’m on several for this site and always testing and find yes, some women aren’t, but I’ve met several women in their early to mid 30’s. I never go for the 20 year old though. Just not into that, but maybe that would be fun to try for a blog post. However, yeah, I’m more likely to get contacted from women who are 38+ years old.
