OurTime Review - A Solid Choice For Meeting Women
Is OurTime a good dating app for meeting women? Yes, it's a solid choice if you're in your mid-40's and beyond. If you're looking for a relationship with women in their late 40's and up, OurTime is a great starting point.
OurTime does have some issues. Its desktop version needs an upgrade, there are too many upsells for more money (boosts and gifts), and the mobile app removes a lot of the features found on the desktop version.
Ourtime's benefits, however, far outweigh the issues above. It's is easy to jump into and is very intuitive to learn. There are a lot of women on the app, which is its biggest selling point.

What is OurTime?
OurTime is an app that focuses on men and women over 50. However, I see a lot of women in their 40's, so it's not only 50-somethings who use the app.
There is a large number of people on this app. Its focus is for people seeking relationships - this is not a casual dating app.
Is the app free?
It's free to sign-up and browse profiles on OurTime. You can like profiles as well. That's the extent of your "free" options - if you want to message women, you need a premium membership.
There are additional features on OurTime that come at an added cost. These include boosts, gifts, and the connect me feature. I dive into these features below.
How much is Ourtime?
OurTime isn't the most expensive dating app, but it's not dirt cheap. The cost of our time depends on which plan you choose. The app offers several options.
OurTime offers several membership plans.
One trick I recommend is signing up but immediately hiding your profile. If you're patient and willing to wait, OurTime will eventually mail you discounts on memberships. After a few weeks, the app starts sending you discount offers like the one below.

How to set up a profile
Setting up your profile on OurTime is simple. You aren't required to do anything. You don't even need a picture, but don't expect to do well going that route.
I recommend filling everything in your profile. Let's break down each section of a profile on OurTime.
Photos - Ourtime allows you to load up to 30 photos on your profile. 30 pictures is a little extreme - I don't advise that many. 7 pictures is more than enough.
You can add photos from your PC, phone or import them directly from Facebook. One thing I like about OurTime is you can add captions to your pictures.
Adding captions to your pictures can give you a boost, so it's a good idea to do so. Hinge found photos with captions get two times as many likes as those that didn't.
About section - This is the section where you enter traits. Examples include education, height, income, pets, etc.
You must answer each question. Women look at your traits, and they are also found in OurTime's search tool. Bypassing this critical section may exclude you from a woman's search results.
How about we - This section allows you to suggest activities you want to do with the woman reading your profile. Pick activities that a woman will enjoy doing with you - wine tasting, road trips, concerts, hikes, etc.
The "how about we" section is at the top of your profile. Women will see it, so it's critical you write something. A well-written answer makes a great immediate first impression.
In A Nutshell/The One I Am Looking For/I'd Just Like to Add - These three sections are free-form text. This means you can write a few sentences diving into each topic. They are self-explanatory and are easy to answer.
Personality Questions - This section has prewritten questions that supposedly give insight into your personality. You don't get to write an answer - you choose from a set of dropdown options.
For example, you can choose to answer the "Do you enjoy cooking" question. You can select an answer that is shown on your profile.

My Top Interests - OurTime allows you to select up to three interests from several categories. The categories available are:
- Activities & Hobbies
- Culture & Entertainment
- Food & Social
- Life & Spirit
Each category has several options to choose from. For example, "activities & hobbies" include "games," "nature and outdoors," "sports," "camping," and other related topics.
Once you select an interest, you can write about it. It's a good idea to choose three of these because your answers give a little more insight into who you are.
Message Ideas - OurTime offers you several questions that women can answer if they're interested in you. There is a list, and you can select up to four questions. When selected, they are displayed in your profile with a message icon.
Pre-selected answers offer insight into your personality on OurTime.
The messages are generic and boring. The benefit is some women will use them to start conversations with you.

What are the features of OurTime?
OurTime offers several features. Some are included with the premium membership, while others cost extra. Here's a list of the features on the app:
- Connect me - Allows you to talk and text women using a private number. This feature even has a voice mail. Nobody can see your phone number. This is an added feature not included in the premium membership - it costs extra.
- Gifts - An added cost beyond the premium membership. Supposedly, it makes women notice you. These are virtual gifts that you can send women. I recommend ignoring this feature.
- Likes - You can see which women like you on the app. This is a premium feature (requires paid membership) to see who likes you. It comes with the paid membership.
- Chat - OurTime allows you to chat on IM with women. You can disable this feature if you want. This is a very good feature to connect with women who are online when you are. The feature is included with your premium membership.
- Reply for free - Allows anyone to message you back whether they are a full member or not. The feature is not included with the premium membership, so it's an added cost.
- Boosts - Gives you enhanced visibility to women. The app claims it gets you 4X more attention. It's not included as part of the premium membership, so you must pay to use it. This feature is worthless and can be ignored.
How much are the boosts on OurTime app?
OurTime uses a good search tool.
The search filter on OurTime is OK. It's not the best but serves its purpose. You can search by:
- Distance
- Religion
- Age
- Height
- Body type
The search filter offers enough options to help you narrow down what you're looking for. It also shows you who is online, which is always a plus.
I recommend searching by female members that are online. It's always a good idea to send messages to women who are online when you are.
The desktop search feature is superior to the mobile app. The mobile app has limited parameters you can use, however. It's not as good as the desktop.

You'll be happy to know that there are indeed women on the OurTime app. There are a lot of women, and they are very active on the app. The women are engaged, and most are looking for a relationship.
There's a wide age range of women on the app. From the mid-40's and beyond, there's no shortage of ladies using the app.
How to message women
Sending messages on OurTime is similar to all other dating apps. You click on a woman's profile/message icon and send a message. Simple.
OurTime will give you suggestionss for a message - ignore these canned messages. Don't send the message the app suggests because women will know you put zero effort into your icebreaker. Below is an example of the message OurTime suggests.
Avoid the suggested icebreakers from OurTime - create your own instead.
It's a good idea to craft unique messages. Focus on a woman's bio and show curiosity about something she writes in her profile.

Ourtime is a solid choice if you're in your mid-40's and beyond. There are a lot of women on this app, so it's worth exploring.
Unlike OkCupid or Hinge, OurTime is not a "free" dating app. That's OK because, on paid dating apps, women tend to be more actively using them.
Ourtime is easy to navigate and use. Creating a profile is painless, and the experience is very intuitive, even for the technically "challenged."
The mobile app is superior to the desktop version. OurTime has a good search filter, lets you chat with other members, and messaging women is simple.
OurTime offers several "add-on" features that are an added cost. You don't need them. Save your money and stick with the premium membership.
For what it aims to do, OurTime is a very good starting point. I think Match.com is a better choice, but OurTime is cheaper and a solid option for meeting women in their 40's and up.
