Show Photos of These Hobbies On Your Dating Profile!
The best hobbies for dating profiles for men include Pilates, running, and weightlifting according to a recent study. Want women to swipe right? Ditch the selfies and photos of yourself sitting at home.
You want to show women you have varied interests, and the best way to do that is including photos of yourself engaging in your hobbies. Sharing your hobbies give women a little insight into your life, and studies show it helps your results.
OkCupid found people who have pictures of themselves doing something interesting have a 40% higher chance of receiving more messages.
Why? Because it shows women you do fun things. You don't sit at home watching Netflix and live life the way it's mean to be; fun!
So which hobbies should you use? Anything is better than a half-naked gym selfie, but Zoosk found there are certain hobbies which boost responses from women, while others hurt you.
Zoosk analyzed 15,314,690 photos of its users to determine what sparks conversations. Below are some of the findings.
Best Hobby Photos That Women Respond To.
The following photos were shown to get responses from Zoosk:
- Pilates - 1374% increase in messages.
- Dancing - 525% increase in messages.
- Gardening - 342% increase in messages.
- Running - 321% increase in messages.
- Weightlifting - 289% increase in messages.
However, not all hobbies help your results. Beware of adding these photos as they can reduce the number of responses from women:
- Soccer - 18% fewer messages.
- Mixed Martial Arts - 34% fewer messages.
- Karaoke - 52% fewer messages.
Just Get Out And Do Something!
You don't necessarily have to use photos of yourself doing Pilates or dancing, but definitely do something interesting. The best hobbies for dating profiles are those taken outside your home.
I always include photos of myself doing stuff outdoors; primarily hiking. The great thing is plenty of women start conversations with me based on my photos.
Below is a photo I used on Match.com of myself at the top of a mountain. The comment is from a woman showing how beneficial these types of photos are.
Here is another picture of myself during a night hike which I used on Hinge. The woman liked my photo, and I used her "like" to start a conversation.
Final Thoughts
A well-round profile portfolio is crucial for success on dating apps; headshots, smiling, and pictures with friends are a given. You must also add a few photos of yourself doing your hobbies. You must use pictures of your hobbies.
Adding a couple of photos of hobbies give women insight into your life and can help you land dates. Women swipe right more often, respond to your messages more, and in some cases, women initiate conversations with you like my examples above.
Do yourself a favor and a couple of yourself photos engaged in hobbies. If you don't do anything like these, it's time to get off the couch and pick up some new things.
